OK, I think one of my daughters friends stole one of her secret codes and is using it to change her password and buying and mailing things to herself. They also changed some of the personal info so it will not let us change the username. We have changed the password several times but whoever is doing this continues to use the secret code to reset the password. Is there a way to see who packages were sent to from kinzpost? This is our best chance to find out who is doing this.
You could try sending little things to everyone on your friends list. If it says a gift has already been sent to that user today, then you will know who the Kinz Post has been going to that day.

I'm not sure that says who you sent to, just who you rec'd from.
I wish I would have waited to see your response. I just deleted everyone from her friends list. My plans was to see if anyone shows back up.
The mailbox does not show who mail was sent to. Any other ideas?
That will help, because you can only send to people on the list. That won't prevent the 'Hacker" from going back in and requesting someone, and then getting back into your account to send. But - if you stay on top of it you may be able to catch them in action once you see someone appear on the list. Other than calling Ganz, I don't know what else you can do if they keep changing your password with the code that they stole.
Once the account is created you can't change the Username. The password is the only thing you can change. I'm sorry to say your last resort may be calling. Unfortunately Ganz doesn't always respond well to stolen codes. In their opinion it is our responsibility to keep the codes safe. It's worth a shot though, the way things are it couldn't do any harm. Good luck.
you could be proactive abt it. also, you have a slight problem bc ganz is closed through sunday and possibly monday. monday is a holiday in canada but its not a required holiday so ganz may or may not have given them the day off. you dont want to lose lots of stuff in the next few days.
first you should reduce the friends list so its only the people that you know in real life bc, otherwise, its gonna be beary expensive! write down the names, to keep track if someone else shows up. instead of waiting for them to send themself something, just after midnight, send a gift to every person on the list.
(my WW isnt working right now but if yours is, start sending! water is really cheap and you can use the brown wrapping paper.)
if you want to catch the person, try what the person a few posts up said. oh if you have two accounts, send your child's most prized possessoins to the other acct. if not, i'd send water to everyone on the list tonight, then delete strangers so you can track better and keep on top of it every night at midnight until you can get someone at ganz.
definitely call ganz. 866-WEBKINZ. its hard to say if they will be helpful. their "customer service" is spotty.

oh. i just read that you deleted everyone. well, thats an issue. hmm..... the person is gonna know to delete themself after every send. you are going to need to know what code was stolen when you contact ganz. so, you should go look for all your pet codes to see which one is missing. unless you wrote them down, you wont know the number but maybe ganz can look it up by the type of pet.
unfortunately, there is no way to lock the account. just in case that they do not have your code but are good at guessing the PW (or your daughter is sharing the PW), make it very unique and odd for you so it cannot be guessed.
btw... if they changed personal info, that might give you a cliue as to who is breaking in.

Thank you. I already did send all of her exclusive items to other accounts to protect them. After I deleted the friends, I realized that if they were smart that they could just remove them everytime like you said. I was trying to act fast but forgot to think first. I just hope I can catch them in the act or they are not smart enough to remove themselves after they send the package. I hate to contact the parents of all the girls that were here for her birthday party. I don't want them to think we are calling their daughter a thief.
Good luck. Almonds are cheaper than water. Assuming it's a hijacker or hacker, you might want to invest in a good virus/anti spy program. Currently I use Norton but I heard McAfee works good, too. You need soething that can help block your IP address getting traced, and something that will block someone from installing the "Keyboard" program, which records things like passwords. I"m going to guess it's like you said, a frined of your child's., but you never know and a good safety program is never a bad idea anyway.
Please keep us posted on what happens.

If this continues I would definately call the parents. If you word it the right way, you won't be accusing anyone. I would just let them know that your daughter had a tag go missing and you were just calling to see if their daughter may remember seeing it, or if it "accidentally" got mixed up with their things when they packed up to go home. You may even get one of the girls to let you know that they saw the one that took it. As Redbear said, look to see which code tag you are missing and that way you could tell the parents specifically which tag she is missing.
Hindsight and all that... when we adopt pets we always write the child's name on the code tag and the pets name - my kids have several of the same pets. We do it so that if there is ever a problem with WW, I know which tag code to use when calling or emailing with a problem. If there is a name on the tag it is more easily identifiable if someone were to take it.
Best of luck to you, I hope this is resolved soon. Please do let us know how it all turns out.
I agree with calling the parents. The quickest way to stop a child from doing something is to get their parents involved. Don't accuse anyone though. Just explain the situation and then maybe say something like, "I know it's not (insert name), but could you ask her if maybe she saw somebody stealing or copying down a code". That way you aren't accusing anybody, but when the person who did it is asked by their parents it may scare them into stopping.
