Unanswered: [SOLVED] Safari getting W loading with green field background
Since I went through the process with Ganz technical support, I thought it would be good to share the results with anyone else using a MacIntosh. Evidently this is a known issue.
My problem was the system would stop at the W loading screen with the green field as a background. It would never actually allow me into WebKinz world.
The solution for Safari was to change my display resolution (System Preferences, Hardware: Displays, Resolutions) to 1024x768. This allowed Safari to load the site. I was told the stretched version would have also worked.
An alternative that worked for me was to download and install the Flash 9 player and Firefox. This allowed me to keep my screen at full resolution and still access WebKinz world. When you set up Firefox, you will want to go into preferences under the Content tab and for "Block pop-up windows" add www.webkinz.com as an exception.
It seems the issue is that the quicktime player that is part of MacOS X doesn't like something about the flash sent by Webkinz World.
Re: Safari getting W loading with green field background
Yes, it happens normally as well. The difference was that with the initial error it would never log in correctly.
I still have times where it gets stuck with the W-loading, even when using Foxfire. When I do, I try to log out and back in. If that doesn't fix it, I clear private data within the privacy tab of foxfire, checking the box to have it clear cookies as well. Sometimes it is just that the server is over loaded, in which case the best thing to do is come back later.
