Thunderstorms: Like them or not?

There is currently a really bad thunderstorm right now and normally I don't mind them. But when its one that could threaten your Power than I don't like them. I also hate them when I'm home alone lol I just get afraid of them sometimes. (Sounds childish...a little) But its true. When I was younger I had a metal basketball hoop outside. It was one that was mounted into the ground and a lightning bolt hit that and it fell over. (thank goodness not towards the house.) So my question is, do any of you guys like/hate thunderstorms?

*I do know tornadoes can form out of these, however we get tornado warnings/watches rarely here, we have only had a few. But once my mom and I were driving back home from a canceled soccer game I was supposed to have. It was pouring rain, the streets were nearly flooded. a tree almost fell on our car, gave my mom a heart attack(not literally lol) and a tornado was 1 1/2 miles down the road and we didn't know. we got home safely but discovered we had no power.

I jump at the smallest sounds, so a thunderstorm? Yeah, not fun.

A few years ago we had a tornado (nobody was hurt though) and ever since then, big storms scare me so much. . .

I live where it storms alot( suppriseing it hasn't storm here like it did last year ) so I used to be afraid of them. Now I don't mind them as long as there no big booms that literally shake the house and sound off the car alarms.

Yea, they usually do. You never know if tornado's can come out of those.
