Default Making soft serve ice cream

Hey I'm rachy! I love soft serve ice cream and I know a ton of people do as well. My question is if you make soft serve ice cream from home, how do you do it? I've been looking at videos and I've seem some machines but $200.00. Who wants to pay that? If you can answer that would be great!

The only thing I could think of would be to put some ice cream in a blender with a little milk and blend it up a bit, just to make it softer, and add some air into it. I'm not sure.
I love the soft serve ice cream though.

I just thought of a way as well, and I tried it last night and it works!

Step 1: get a Wilton decorating bag and a large star tip ( 1 M ) also from Wilton

Step 2: fill the amount of ice cream you want into the bag and squish the bag for 10 seconds so the ice cream is packed together and not hard

Step 3: put the ice cream bag into the freezer and wait 2-5 minutes for the icecream to freeze just a bit

Step 4: get a cone or bowl and squeeze the icecream out in a swirl formation

Step 5: eat and enjoy your soft serve icecream!

That's a great idea! I actually have the Wilton cake decorating stuff. (it's packed away in the pantry, but I'll have to get it out!) I will HAVE to try this! Thanks for the idea!

It worked great for me but remember to put it back into the freezer or else it will melt really fast and it won't come out of the bag very nice. The 1M tip worked great for me. I hope the icecream idea works great for u!

Heard homemade ice cream was the best
You could always look it up on Google and see if anybody else uses different tools and or has different ideas on how to do it with paying outrageous prices for the machine you might only use once.

Default Re: Making soft serve ice cream

I've looked it up many of times and I almost bought a soft serve machine, the only problem with home made icecream is that the ingredients are expensive and can be small servings but yes it tastes soooo good! My parents said why would you do that when you can get a huge bucket of icecream for $5.00.

Thanks for the help!
