Default June 17th, 2010: The day the Midwest shall never forget....

Hello WI. I don't really like to talk about what happened yesterday here in the Midwest, but I want to inform you.

Yesterday it was bitterly humid and windy and gray clouds had flooded the sky. Worried, my daycare group (I'm a summer helper) came in. Then I turned on the radar while the kids colored in there "Summertime Storm" packets. And I was shocked to see a HUMONGUS line of red and yellow coming through Iowa (in which I live) and Minnesota (where I was born). I wanted to scream because my mother was still at work and I was frantic. So then (this is what scared the kids) a EAS (Emergency Alarm System) came up from the National Weather Service Of Des Moines saying that my county was in a Tornado Watch. Many younger kids cryed and older ones helped calm the feared children. We then practiced what to do in a tornado, such as taking cover or paying attention. Then all the parents came to get their children. I then went home.

Later that evening, more and more EAS's came on. Then something freaked the life outta me, (some that where on last night DCT may remember me saying this) that the town my brother was in (for a summer college program) was in a tornado warning! I started crying I was so worried. Then he called us and said no one was hurt and that a tornado had touched down.

Then, at 10:30 when me and my mother went to sleep (I had to sleep in my Mother's room because bugs were in my room and I have a horriable fear of bugs xD) I saw something I couldn't believe. It was in a small town of Wadena in Minnesota. The damage was bitter. Everything was smashed. I felt so lucky, our town not having a tornado.

Please keep me and everyone here ond WI that live in the Midwest is your prayers. There were more than 60 tornadoes last night and we are still in shock. Thank you for your time. =]

Holy crud! I live in Indiana (technically in the midwest ), and I didn't get any of that... LOL, yesterday was actually really pretty and sunny... perfect blue skies with clouds... my theater camp went to the park and a girl and I pointed out what the clouds looked like. It was that kind of day. *shrugs* it rained today, though. Maybe it just got here late?

Anywho, sorry to all the people in the western midwest... Storms are no fun unless they miss where you live juuuuust enough so that you can hear the thunder and see the lightning.

Aww, I'm sorry you were scared. I would've been, too! I live in the East. (PA) I've never really been in any big storms, before. (Well, if you count an earthquake, then yes...) Sorry to anyone that were in these storms! I am praying! (:

Yikes! That's scary! I hope everyone was ok!
There are tornado warnings every so ofeten here in Texas, and last week while I was at the camp I work at there was one.
