Heading to Vancouver for the February 12th Chat Thread
The day is here finally. We have all been waiting for it. Sure it is Friday, but it's the Winter Olympics 2010 from Vancouver! The 2010 Winter Olympics are in Vancouver, Canada and last from February12-28, 2010. The Opening ceremonies for Beijing was spectacular so I can't wait to see what Vancouver has in store for us. Please check your local listings for NBC as to what time it will be starting for you. The ceremonies begin at 6:00 p.m. PST (9:00 p.m. EST) and will be broadcast live on NBC (CTV in Canada), as well as many other networks across the world. Both NBC and CTV will offer live online streaming of the opening ceremonies and most other Olympic events via their official websites. The choreographer for the opening ceremonies is Jean Grand-Maitre, who is the artistic director of the Alberta Ballet. Michaelle Jean, the Governor General of Canada, will officially open the Olympics during the ceremony. A few sources have leaked Canadian music stars Bryan Adams and Sarah McLachlan will perform at the event, at least one trapeze and Canadian Aboriginal drummers and singers will accompany Adams on at least one song, according to a source who attended a rehearsal.
