Default Re: Great Summer reading

Here's my recommended reading!

The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins
The Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins
Goddess of Yesterday by Caroline B. Cooney
Code Orange by Caroline B. Cooney
If the Witness Lied by Caroline B. Cooney
Drivers' Ed by Caroline B. Cooney
Pretty Little Liars (series) by Sara Shepard (The TV show and next [and final] installment in the series comes out soon!)
Double Identity by Margaret Peterson Haddix
Running Out of Time by Margaret Peterson Haddix
Uglies by Scott Westerfield (I didn't care for this one, but I know tons of people that love it.)
The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien (If you're looking for a heavier read.)
Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson
Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
The Host by Stephenie Meyer (Way better than Twilight in my opinion.)
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult (I'd also recommend House Rules and Handle With Care by her. The rest of her novels are a bit more mature as far as content. So, check with your parents before reading the rest of her books, 'kay?)
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
Alex Rider (series) by Anthony Horowitz
The Forest of Hands and Teeth (series) by Carrie Ryan
East by Edith Pattou
Songs of Eirren (series) by Edith Pattou
Two Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt

Cool! The most common answer has been The Hunger Games. I plan to try it!

The series The Mortal Instruments (it's a trilogy) is amazing, if you like fantasy type books.

That sounds interesting! And yeah, the movie should be amazing because they went with a more independent/edgy production company, and the author's writing the screenplay!

I'm so glad you posted this! I am a bookworm too, and can never decide what to read next! It also doesn't help that I am super picky about what books I read! Here are my ALL-time favorite books!

Cryptid Hunters- Roland Smith
Tentacles- Roland Smith
Peak- Roland Smith
Uglies- Scott Westerfield
Pretties- ScottWesterfield
Specials- Scott Westerfield
Extras- Scott Westerfield
Magic or Madness- Justine Larbalestier
The Naked Mole Rat Letters- Mary Amato

I know some of them are a little childish for someone my age, but I love them! I'm sure I have more books that I love... I will post if I remember any more amazing books!

The Face On The Milk Carton series- Caroline B. Cooney
(actually, Caroline B. Cooney has a lot of good books)
Waiting For Normal- Leslie Conner
The Giver- Lois Lowry
The Winnie Years series- Lauren Myracle
Uglies- Scott Westerfield
Flipped- Wendelin Van Draanen (movie coming out in September)
The Hunger Games series- Suzanne Collins (movie coming out next year)
*The Hiding Place- Corrie ten Boom
*Speak- Laurie Halse Anderson
*A Child Called It- David Pelzer
A Walk To Remember- Nicholas Sparks
Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie- Jordan Sonneblick (and then read the sequel, "After Ever After")

("*" means that these books have some mature/heavy content, and you probably shouldn't read them if you are under 13.)
