Happy Thanksgiving to all our American friends and to every one of our members around the world. In North America we are among the most fortunate of people, not only around the world but through the centuries. We live in a wonderful world: We have freedom, a very long life expectancy, many plagues that were a scourge of mankind have been conquered, machines do much of the drudgery of work for us, and to top it all... we have the Internet!
At the Thanksgiving feast, it’s often a family tradition to give a special prayer of thanks. But do you thank your mother after each meal that she prepares for you? Do you thank your father every time he treats you to a restaurant outing? Don’t save your thanks for only the big occasions.
Be generous with your gratitude, and give thanks for every small store-bought snack too. Saying: “Thank you for the awesome meal...” is a charming habit to get into. Say it after every meal, big or small.
Gratitude is a very attractive quality. Others will love you for the smile and whispered thanks that accompany small favors. Give thanks every day for all the blessings that come your way.
Thanks for listening and have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
