Default Re: Eye doctor

To dilate your eyes the doctor puts some drops in them and then waits a little bit. The drops make the pupils (the black spots in your eyes) get very big. The doctor then uses a light to look in your eyes. Dilating your eyes helps the doctor see better in the inside of your eyes to see if there are any problems. You don't have to have your eyes dilated yearly. Each eye doctor is different so ask yours how often he/she recommends having it done.

Since the pupils of your eyes are so big you will be sensitive to light and doing some activities will be hard because your vision may be fuzzy/blurry. Just take along dark sunglasses to the eye doctor with you and don't plan on doing to much especially outside when you have it done for atleast that day.
