Tatianna and Luke's Critiques

Cartoon: This is really adorable! I like your color scheme, and I feel like all the different required aspects of the outfit flow well with the other ones you added. I think I might like to see a hat added to this, though. Or does the face paint count as a hat? I know it can be weird sometimes. I think your background is nice, but maybe you should choose some different flooring, since the bottoms of your shoes are kind of blending in with this one. I also think you might want to play around with moving the plants down slightly…. Having them separated from you makes my eye sort of go to them instead, whereas bringing them down to your level (or at least, closer to your level) would probably let my attention go straight to you.



Trey: I think this is really cool and colorful. Everything does coordinate very nicely, which I know can sometimes be hard when you’re trying to put a bunch of different colors into one outfit. I’m not really sure if you need the belt though. It adds a cool touch, but I feel like the stripes may be making the outfit a bit too hectic. I’m also not really a huge fan of the shoes. They just feel really big and long on you. I think some pirate boots, or another black shoe, might look slightly better with this outfit. Your background looks very nice, but I don’t know how much I like the pop of color right at the top of the picture. I’d maybe play around with other possible positions for the two lamps.



Arwen: This look is so pretty. I really like the pale blue; it just looks great on you. I’m not completely in love with the shoes, but they’re growing on me. I just feel like the blue is a little too dark. I’d also possibly like to see this with the Hollywood sunglasses… Right now the small tiara isn’t quite doing it for me. Your background is very nice, but something about it just feels a little weird with the outfit… The earth tones just kind of contrast the pale blue in a slightly strange way, if that makes sense. I’d maybe just try posing with some trees or flowers in colors that complement the blue, or trying an indoor background (maybe with the winter theme?)



Victoria: I really like this. It feels like just a casual outfit, but it still follows all the requirements. The pirate hat adds a really nice touch to the outfit, and makes it a little surprising. I’m not a big fan of those pants, though. I’m not really sure what it is…. The color is nice, but I just feel like they have kind of a weird silhouette to them, if that at all makes sense. I’d maybe try the academy skirt, black track pants, or something else that’s black or grey. I think a simple background was totally the way to go here, but I don’t know if I’m completely in love with the rosebush. The red of the roses to feels weird to me with the different red of the top. Maybe just try some trees or regular flowers instead.



Magnolia: I really love how colorful and fun this is. It really shows a different side of you, which I like. The blues feel a little weird and clashy to me, but I kind of think it works at the same time. I would like to see this without the bow, but I know that you needed it to fit one of the requirements. I just feel like the glasses are enough, and the bow makes your face almost too busy. I don’t know about your background, though. The pinwheels just feel a little strange to me, because although they’re brightly colored, they’re completely different colors than your outfit. I think maybe posing next to some kind of pool might have fit better… Maybe with some colorful flowers around you, too.



Menapae: I will admit that we kind of forgot about your three piece limitation when planning this round, but you totally stepped up to the challenge. Your outfit looks really nice; very chill, but still fashionable. I think I might like to see if with the Hollywood sunglasses instead. I believe they would still count as an old piece. The red sunglasses and red hat just feel kind of strange to me… Maybe it’s that they’re slightly different shades of red? I don’t know. Your background looks nice, but I can’t decide if the different cacti look weird or really cool. I’m leaning towards cool. Thewishing well feels a bit unnecessary; I think the cacti would be fine by themselves.

But I totally get what you're saying in them so thanks And as far as Cartoon goes and a hat, you are right when you say the face paint counts as a hat I was a little skeptical about using it because judges always say that, but it looked to good to pass up

Hello models! LP here with my critiques!

Cartoon- This is ok to me. I love the idea of blue and green, and your green pieces are right on. The background is great for this idea, but you lost steam with your blue piece choices. I really don't like either of them, and I especially don't like them together. I think the blue flannel shirt would have looked nice with this, and maybe the water costume shoes if you had them. Then to incorporate the new item, I would have just used the silver braided belt from the KSO. I love the idea, but the execution could use some work.

Trey- This was another good idea, but the execution wasn't quite there for me. I love the pants with that shirt. I don't like the belt with them at all. I just looked back at the release date of these clothing items, and technically, that shirt was released in 2010, so it doesn't really count as new. So I would have went with the black studded belt from the KSO, and then use the big funky hat so that all your accessories were black. I think the incorporation of the rainbow in the hat and belt was overdoing it. Just a little refining and this would have been great.

Arwen- I really like your picture Arwen! There's something really fresh about it. I didn't like that shirt shoe combo in Cartoon's outfit, but it looks much better in yours because you coordinated the shades with the hat and the pants. You really pop off and I love the background! One of my fave photos of you so far!

Victoria- The outfit is decent for the most part. I don't like the hat. I would have used the big funky hat rather than that one. The pirate hat just really makes no sense with the casualness of the rest of the outfit. I wish there was more background. What I see looks good, but I feel that the picture should have been bigger.

Magnolia- I really like your outfit! It's one of the most beautiful and most interesting of the round. I feel like your background is too bold and kind of outshines the pastel of your outfit a little. It's just more of an indoor outfit to me. But great job on the outfit!

Menapae- Your best picture to date. You really understand that each piece matters, especially for you. You don't have a piece that doesn't need to be there. Perfectly coordinated, perfect color pallette, perfect background! You're back in the game, Menapae!!!!

I looked up the shirt's release date but it must have given me a wrong date I knew early 2011 sounded a bit recent

It's funny because the belt is actually my favorite part of the whole photo and both of you said you didn't like it...I agree with some of you and leah's other critiques about the background and shoes and all, but I still really love the belt/fedora/pants combo and how the black shoes and glasses go with the music notes xD Oh well, I hope we manage to make it despite not having super good critiques this round

I decided to create an exciting and cool looking party outfit complete with a rainbow Fedora and star pants. I used the lamps in the background to complement my outfit and add to the party feel. I really love this outfit because everything coordinates (shirt with stars on pants, belt with hat, music notes with glasses and shoes etc.) and it's totally me, so hope you like it
