I just stick to the Classical Latin.
With a K.
Which hurts,
because there are INCREDIBLY rarely ks.
Like, they don't even exist, I don't think.
I've never seen one.
There are also no js.
Sorry for the Latin lesson.

Just wrote this. Not my best (the meter changes a bit half way through, but I don't think it's too big of a problem), but opinions would be appreciated.

Locked Window

I spent so many years gazing out of that window
Only to find myself looking back in.
To the days of confinement, of schooling, of friendship,
Of not knowing where to begin.

Now that I’m standing outside of that window
Thinking of days that passed by
I’m wishing that I could just do it all over
Give everything a second try.

The fights and the quarrels
The friendships gone bad
My opinions of classmates
I’ll no longer have

So many things
I wish I could redo
But I’m equipped with only
A mirror to look through

I cannot go back
To the days that are gone
They have dissipated
Into memories withdrawn

From a tangible form
To a wisp in my mind
Now recollections are warped
From the passing of time

Looking back on my memories
Back down the one-way street
I see the mistakes
The sorrow, the deceit

But I have to go forwards
Old baggage in hand
Because the front door is open
But the back door’s been slammed.

Hello everyone ~
I prefer to be called Jess. My favorite book series include Percy Jackson, The Hunger Games, and Harry Potter. I also enjoy reading comedy, mystery, and ghost/horror books. I’m not currently writing any stories, although I want to start one. I have the tendency to start a story but never finish unless I have a dead line. I’m trying to fix that… xD I enjoy writing poems, and I have recently taken to songwriting, which needs work, but I plan on continuing. I also love to roleplay and feel that it’s helped me a lot as a writer.

I don't know exactly what to call them. They're humans that can shift into birds, but there are a lot of specifications that I've gone into on the bird types because I'm weird, but they're mostly diurnal [/not nocturnal] birds of prey. And if they're not birds of prey, then they have to be no larger than the average robin. It's got a lot of scientific/Latin based things because of the birds, and it's a lot different than what I usually write, but it's sort of fun.
