I got it as one volume on amazon for $11!
But I have 2 chapters left on the Return of the King, but I will be done with it within this hour.
I also watched the 3 movies, too! AGH I HATE GOLLUM!

Also I finished the first hobbit movie. "Let's play the riddle game!" "Thirty white horses on a red hill." "TEETH! I only nine."

Anyways, I am hoping to find the hobbit books at my used book store. And also planning to watch the other hobbit movies soon!!!
I've read and reread "The Hobbit many times, lots more of the books and movies will be more understandable, I just binge watched the movies, last weekend.

Okay read the giver. #1 discounting the series the ending seems obvious to me. #2 did anyone else find the book just plain unnerving?? Because I was seriously disturbed by it (in a good way but I'd always thought it was more of a sweet sad kids story with deeper themes. Gosh I found it so unnerving)

Also finished lynchpin by Seth Godin

it was definitely unnerving! i think that was intentional but that is such a corrupt way of living

i am planning on finishing son by lois lowry soon,,, i haven't had much time
then i'm going to read childhood's end by arthur c. clarke if i can somehow read the unreasonably tiny text with these eyes of mine, and i have enders game by orson scott card on hold at my library

Yeah, so question: how did you like the other books in the giver series? I figure they really just aren't as good because they haven't been given the awards and screen time the giver has had, but I do see them on friends book shelves and you're reading them... Tell me what you think of them, especially compared/in contrast to.

(Also when he says his daughters name and your heart breaks into a thousand pieces like holy *$@#&+*$#*)

i actually finished the last book about an hour ago, i enjoyed them and they give more knowledge of the universe the giver is set in. it also sums everything up nicely, which i appreciated. overall, the series was a bit rushed in parts and somewhat predictable and while it wasn't my favorite book i've ever read, i enjoyed it and if you liked the giver anf had some time on your hands they're worth the read.

AND IKR it's so dkkdfkfkfjfj

needless to say, i read son by lois lowry today heheh

i just picked up ender's game by orson scott card and the fever code by james dashner at the library today, i still need to finish childhood's end by arthur c. clarke.

haha good to know! thanks!

also I love that you're reading like so many books at one time because that has been me for the past year. I have like a book I take with me (usually a business book) and a book I read when I'm like ehhhh h let's read a book that's easy and a book I read at night (that's usually fiction, at least a story.) and I have a book I read at home that I need to finish (usually some sort of history or something) and one I read in morning devotions (right now that's john bunyan's prayer, usually more devotional.) and sometimes a few books I have only a couple chapters left in, but it's either hard to finish, or I know the ending will rip me apart so I'm kinda saving it, kinda putting it off xD

and then I have like a week where I finish like five of them like boomboomboom xD
