Some people like a fan on because it helps to block out sound. And the sound of the fan can sometimes put you to sleep if there is a rhythm to it.

I have to have my tv on to go to sleep. If I don't, I stay up 'till 5 in the morning Unless it's my bf's house, I instantly fall asleep there, I'm weird xD
