A man wants to get into a VIP club, but there is a guard at the door. The guard says something to you, and you have to respond with the correct answer to get in. The man watches people answer the guard. He hears the guard say "Twelve" and the person responds "six" and is let in. He sees another person walk up and the guard says "Six" and the person responds "Three" and is let in. The man thinks he has enough information and walks up to the guard. The guard says "Ten" and the man responds "Five" and he is not let in. What should the man have said and what was the rule?
