I think "Webkinz" is for all ages and that the junior line was created for smaller kids to offer more learning opportunities and simpler games they could play. I am a mom and don't think a lot of the games are too easy - I have only ever won two trophies, lol. I love Webkinz World and think it is a lot of fun.
I do think it is great that you are creative and trying to come up with ideas to make kinz more appealing to a wider range of people. I have friends that are teens and they sometimes feel a bit odd about still playing kinz but I think people just have to do what makes them happy and not let others judge them for doing something harmless and fun.
I happen to agree with others about the dating issue - I think it would encourage it. Also, I don't think it is just little kids that "cry cry cry cry" Many people use lots of ploys to try to get people to trade items to them and everyone just has to use their best judgment. If I get annoyed in one room, I just go to another room. I think the filters are important, although too many people are good at finding ways around them - aaargh. I can't stand all of the mean things people say in there and less filters would only make it worse.
But again - I think it is great that you tried to think of a way to appeal to more teens! Keep that thinking cap on
Sorry, I don't really think it's a good idea.
Webkinz designed for Teens would probably just turn it into a Dating Site type thing.
Plus there would really be no way to control who all uses it.
You could have a younger kid just say there a teenager so they could use it and stuff like that.
I don't see a problem - at least, for [notranslate]Ganz[/notranslate] - with Webkinz Senior turning into a quasi-dating site. It'll still be fun for those who are more interested in games, collecting, or just goofing around. And didn't you know that, as of today, online dating are the most profitable sort of commercial websites?
As for younger kids pretending to be older, well, you cannot do much about it. It happens a lot with KC+ safe-vouching. It also happens daily on every pxxx site. Site owners are NOT responsible for it, as long as they post a clear warning and ask for age confirmation. Also, misrepresenting one's age is actually a federal misdemeanor offense and should be handled by parents and/or police.
In any case, such a game - if [notranslate]Ganz[/notranslate] ever goes that route - will certainly need another brand name, to dissociate from the "kid friendly" image. I also wonder what pets will look like.
