Default Re: Water-Proof Webkinz and even a idea about a Raincoat Puppy! Don't ask just come and take a look at this crazy idea!

I've taken my webkinz swimming in the ocean, and got them full of sand, and they still look like new. Most webkinz are quite washable, rinse well, squeeze the water out in a towel. I set mine to dry in the sun - not for too long, then I moved them to a shady spot on the balcony railing.

I can't tell which ones got wet and which ones stayed dry in my suitcase, that's how good they turned out. They smell great too. These were the black and white cows, with the stringy fur.

The webbies with the short velvety finish also wash great. I think the fluffy fur like the collie, may be a bit more trouble?

I never knew that.
I thought if you put webkinz in water, they'll be like other plush toys.
Which usually gets ruined....

Your suggestion of a Raincoat Puppy is a great one, and a Raincoat PSI... how very cute! especially your idea of an umbrella.

However, there are many reports all over the forum about washing webbies, there are guides in the How-To forum. They are washable, not just surface-washable like their label says. You can put them in the washing machine on Delicate, put them in a pillowcase or a mesh bag. Make sure to squeeze out as much water as possible (gently). The key to the whole thing is really the drying. Don't let them sit there damp for too long, anything will get mouldy if it sits damp. Get them to dry. I like air dry, but some have used the dryer on Delicate.

I would not hesitate to take them swimming, pool, lake, ocean, bathtub... why not?

Thank you. I thought the raincoat puppy would be a adorable addition to WW.

And I also learned something new today. LOL

i love this idea, they could add a spray to them that is water resistant but doesn't affect the feel, we have that on our couches and floor

yeah, but nothing happens to webkinz when they get wet. if were concerned we can easily waerproof them ourselves. but anyway, a quick bath for a webbie would make them turn out fine
