I made a new virtual webkinz pet today, the Longhorn. I started with the existing Webkinz cow and re-set the ears, added bigger horns, and changed the color. I was surprised at how well it turned out and I decided to make it my Avatar. I'm still working on the PSI and PSF. I think the item should be the Heart O' Texas Loveseat and the food should be Barbequed Bluebonnets.
OMG!!!! That is sooo cute!! I think you should submit your idea to ganz, because you even have the PSI and PSF!!! Once again, awesome idea! How do you change the webkinz like you were though??
Thanks for the encourgament! I may try to send it to Ganz just for the heck of it, though I definately won't get my hopes up about them choosing to do it. If by some miracle they did, they'd most likely have differemt PSI/PSF since mine are so Texas specific. If they did that, everyone would probably complaine that they should do all the other states too, Canadian provinces (or whatever they have, not to be rude, I just can't remember offhand), etc.
Like I said, I'm actually surprised that it came out as well as it did. I started with the original virtual version of the Webkinz cow in Paint and then moved the ears around so that they were set lower and angled down. I then pasted on the horns from an image of a plush longhorn that I found on the web (I tried to draw them first, but couldn't get them to come out right). Finally I got the shade of "burnt" orange that looked best and then paint brushed it onto the areas that I wanted to cover up the black and added a few spots on the legs. The only thing that I don't like is that the hooves are too dark. They should actually be more brown, but I couldn't get them to come out right. I'm sure that that is more detail than you really wanted, but one thing that I noticed that made it look better is the way that Paint blends the adjacent colors when you save it as a JPEG. When I first painted the orange color it looked kinda fake because it was all one tone. After I saved it, it looked better because it blended different colors in based on what colors were nearby. Okay, I'll stop now. Have fun designing your own virtual webkinz. I hope this helps!
