OK ... I know Ganz is trying to make sure people don't use inappropriate names - which is fine, I'm all for that ... but one of the girls adopted a pet over the weekend and wanted to name it Butterfly.
WW rejected the name because part of the name was considered inappropriate.
Perspective. That's all I'm asking for when it comes to blocking names - just a little perspective.
wow. i can understand for little kids and stuff. but they dont know about all that stuff yet. Buterfly would be fine though. (: so if anyone wants to name there webkinz that name it Buterfly. The seriously cant do anything about that.
I do wish that their naming system was sophisticated enough to recognize the entire word and not just one small, inappropriate part of it. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to program the system to realize that 'butterfly' is a perfectly okay word in spite of the first four letters.
I had the same problem when I tried to name a pet Boo Berry.
I have to agree with Irish Blues on this one because some of the names that are rejected don't even make sense to reject. When my son adopted his Lion it took over 1 1/2 hours to come up with a name that they would except. It was his very first adoption and he was very lucky I let him adopt a second after that.
I had a similiar problem when my daughter got a turtle for easter and she wanted to name it Shelly but we had to settle for Elly. Shelly made better sense because of the shell and all. We still call her plush Shelly and consider elly a nickname!
I totally agree with you.
I have had the same problem many of times, and I
agree that it can be very annoying sometimes. Maybe
you can try checking out this thread. It should help you learn
which names can and cannot be used. It helped me a lot so hopefully
it will help you to.
I agree with you Irish Blues. I wish if you use a name that can't be registered they can send a report to Ganz saying they were trying to name it a good name like "Butterfly". They should be able to reconize it is one word that is good, and not just the bad part.
Sorry this happened.. some of the bans they have are kind of ridiculous..This one I can kind of see...I've had this problem with some of my pets.Of course,Butterfly and Buterfly/Budderfly are basically the same, and looks cute;]
