I see what you're saying! And or course, it could only be something like 20 seconds. No longer. Every single member pays for a webkinz pet and with that comes "rights" to what you do with your time ( as long as you don't cheat and talk bad in the clubhouse) Idk, it just seems a little too controlling.
I am very frustrated with people quitting and it seems like something should be done. On the other hand, WW is a site for learning, and good sportsmanship is a BIG part of that.
I think i'd be happy with that if they did come out with it!
I love the idea! Like others, my favourite game is Atomicolicious, and I really hate it when people quit in the middle of a game. And today, for some reason, every time someone quit, I just got the message that the other player left. It didn't go back to the blue screen that shows your scores, and I didn't get any KC. Really annoying. But I really wonder, do people not know that they still get some KC when they lose? I've had people quit the game, just as I made the winning move - two more seconds, and they would have had at least something! Grrrrr!
Or how about as a penalty losing a pile of happiness? That punishment would seem to fit the crime!

I really like the idea to do something about those quitters.
My idea to add on to yours is that after a player quits X number of times (maybe 10 times) within say a 24 hr period, they get locked out of that game for 12hr. They would also recieve a kinzpost letter explaining what happened and the importance of sportsmanship
This way if you have to go have dinner, or you phone rings you are not punished, because you just did it once, but if you do it regularly you do have to 'pay' for it.
Another alternative would be to reward good sportsmanship. There could be a badge saying, 'I finished 500 PVP games" this way you could see who is a good player.

I agree with what everyone is saying. Time outs are a good idea. How about something like that for people who quit in the middle of a trade = without saying bye or anything. This really upsets me because they don't give you a chance to show all your stuff.
i understand the frustration of not "winning" a game and wanting to continue to the very end and have a winner declared. think about this...you are in the middle of a game and you are "winning" and player 2 sees a move that will put them in 1st place and all of a sudden their computer freezes and the dreaded "please wait" pops up or say its a parent and their little one just got hurt *yikes* i personally would "X" out in a heart beat if my kids needed me that bad. should they get penalized for HAVING to "quit" the game? i dont think so. again i do understand where you are coming from i just dont think its realistic.
What A Wonderful Idea! Of course, people will be mad when they must catch their rare at Arte's but no game is that long and it's a wonderful penatly. Quite a good idea, although I would increase it to 40 or a minute.
oohh.. Or how about each time the person just quits the game, there time out is increased 5 seconds. So if you quit once it's 20 seconds, quit twice, it's 25. Quit and when you get to a minute (9 times - or you could just make it ten) you can't quit for a longer amount of time. LOL. Just throwing ideas out.
