Thumbs up Ganz....Please show us how the Plushies are made!!!

After recently buying the Signature Elephant and Signature Rhino, I realized their construction is very different than most usual Webbies. There are wrinkles, folds, flaps, twisted trunks, and tangled tresses!

I would LOVE to see a few pictures of what it takes to make a plush Webkinz! How many are tried before the final design is chosen? Does Ganz have pictures of "prototype" pets that are not used in the final design? Are there miles and miles of fake fur to choose from before they make a plush pet? Are there bins and bins of cute little plastic eyes, just waiting to be glued to a pet?

These are the questions that rattle around in my brain at night! If you've every looked at your Webkinz and wondered "How'd they do that?" then let us know!

Please take us on a small tour Ganz, and let us see how the 8th Wonder of the World (Webkinz) are created!

They should make a few "webkinz factorys" that are open to the public in the US and Canada, where you can visit and see how webkinz are made. It could be like a crispy cream donut factory where you get to see all the processes at work. I think people would come from all sorts of places to see how plushies are made! (And there could be a webkinz only gift shop inside).

That would be great! And maybe they could have "Build-a-webkinz" where you get a super exclusive pet that you have to stuff by yourself! He he....the possibilities are endless!

I wish it were like that - having a factory! That'd be so much fun. I DO know that they make several models of one particular pet, and then choose the one they like the best. I took my son to the Ganz headquarters for a focus group that we were enrolled in. He had to give his opinions about Webkinz and answer a whole bunch of questions and draw pictures. One of the things that both he and I had to do, was choose which favourite stuffed animal we liked the best out of 6 of them I think. It turned out they were Webkinz Jr! It's been a while now, so I can't remember which animal it was, but I think it was the monkey Jr - they had a few different colours of it and we had to choose which colour monkey we liked best. I chose brown monkey and he chose purple monkey.

Bins of eyes and things would look hysterical! Wonder if they have a software that they can play around with it first? On my iPhone I have an app called Elmo's Monster Maker - SO cute. You start with choosing a muppet without any ears, etc. - and then you tap where the eyes would go and it changes the eyes, nose and hat and then you make them dance - it is the cutest!! T'would be a fun app for webkinz too - design our own )))

Wow Jazz! That sounds really interesting! I would LOVE to see GHQ! That's pretty cool that your family got to be a part of the process as well! Thanks so much for sharing your story with us!

Thanks you guys! I think it would be very easy for them to share a few pictures showing how it is done, and it would be so fascinating! Thanks so much for posting!
