Other; I had a friend when I was younger. A family member of her's had autism. Plus, I happened to be around quite a few people who had autism when I was little, so.

WI was actually my first. I learned it last year. Feeling like i couldn't do much with an avvie and siggie, i decided to name my caramel lion Autism Awareness, which isn't much either.

Well, I'm actually surprised that people who go to public school have never heard of it. Was it not brought up at all doing middle school nor high school?
To top it off, I work at a school. I deal with kids that have autism daily. I'm half way through college to becoming an elementary teacher and I already did my course that dealt with special needs and I wrote a huge paper on autism.

My boyfriend actually has slight autism. It's not noticeable at all unless you know autism very well and if you know my boyfriend very well. He was diagnosed about 10 years ago I believe by the top doctors in the country for autism because it was so hard to figure out what he had. He's outgrown a lot of habits that he though. He still hates being touched though.
