We don't eat together as a family, especially now that most of my other siblings are out of the house (I go to boarding school, too, so I'm pretty much never home).
Our table is super big (eight places), but whenever we did happen to eat as a family I usually either sat at the end of the table or in the seat right next to that closest to the wall. When I eat by myself at that table I sit in any seat but one of the middle ones (each side has three chairs, and I never sit in the middle chair). We all also usually stick to one half of the table (the half away from the windows and closer to the living room). The other half has papers and whatever on it a lot.

There are three other people in my family. We have a rectangular table with four chairs and a bench that fits three people. My parents each sit on the end, and my sister and I on the chairs in the middle. When company comes, they get the middle chairs and we sit on the bench, as does their child if they have one!
