My son has a laptop. But it sets next to mine in the dinning room.

NO computer with internet can be in a bed room (kids only rule).
He does have a flat screen and two game systems. In a media room. Plus a tv in his bedroom. He has the second floor of the house to himself!
(lucky kid).

I sat next to my daughter untill she went to college!
No telling what kids can run into online, or, what they may feel they can do!

My computer is in the "play room", which is also where my guinea pig is.
But, my laptop, I take it all over the house, but I'm mostly on it on the couch in the living room.
