What you are actually seeing is an advertisement. It is trying to trick you into purchasing a virus scanner that you really don't need. You don't need to worry. You don't actually have any viruses on your system, at least, not from this.

Once before we had a problem with this ad showing up on WI and Justin was able to use information from our members to block it. If you see this advertisement on your computer, please make note of what advertisements are running at the moment it pops up. Justin can go into the system and block them from ever appearing again.

He can also use that information to file a complaint with the company that provides us with our advertisements. We are NOT supposed to be getting ads like this.

I just had it show up (again) while I was reading this thread. It is very convincing, but I did not click OK. Now to check my hard drive. Thanks for the info and I hope you can get rid of this soon...I've been avoiding WI for about a week now because of it.

I get that 're-direct' page too on WI. It is terrible !

The only way I can get rid of it is do a CTRL_ALT_DELETE to get my task manager, and shut down the page there. I do not want to click 'cancel' since maybe that button is a trick. I don't know.

But I advise everyone to do the same. Don't click anything. Get rid of it with task manager

Yeah, that's what I assumed, and that's true about it too. So I when I got it I thought if I just removed the program that had downloaded it would be fine...but when I turned my computer on after it had downloaded my computers background was gone! Which happens when a virus starts to get into your computer. And I couldn't find the program, it was hiding. I took it to Best Buy and they said they had been getting a lot of reports like this recently and that it was in fact a virus that had to be removed imediately, and they showed me how.

That is also a very good idea! I would also advise people to do that.

I would just like to say that, although this virus may be getting on to this site through the adds, it IS infact a potentially harmfull computer virus. I advise everyone who reads this to be cautious about everything that pops up on to your computer, no matter how convincing it may seem.

I did infact have the virus myself and once it was taken to professionals they did tell me it was a virus. So please be careful when online, as WI is not the only site this virus can be extracted (for lack of a better word ) from.

It was starting to get on my nerves. I'm not s stupid to actually do it, I just get it, go Oh well, close it, the fake scans come, and close it again. Then yeah. It's not really a threat anymore, just annoyance. I think Justin hit the right ad since I havem't seen it in about 2 weeks

You can click the x button, It'll show a fake scan, and then close that. If it doesn't let you, keep closing until it does. I've gotten it like maybe 6 or 7 times, and we've ran about 4 virus scans, and closing it works, and i don't get a virus. My bro told me it was also a key-stroke virus.
