| | The quick and easy way to take screen shots on a mac (osx)
I've noticed a few people recently with macs who are asking how to get a screen shot. It is SOOOOOO simple!!
press the following keys all together.
you'll get a cursor that looks like a crosshair. Click and drag a box around whatever it is you want to capture. As soon as you let go of the mouse button, you'll hear a click, like a camera shutter. the image will save as picture 1, picture 2, picture 3....etc. It usually saves to your desktop. but you may have to search for it.
You CAN use the key combo LONG before you actually need to snap the picture, as long as you don't need to do anything else with the mouse in that time. So, for instance, you know that something is going to come flying across your screen in the next 5 minutes. you can press apple+shift+4 and then sit there waiting for it to happen. You can even draw the box and sit waiting because it doesn't actually snap the picture until you let go. (it' a great way to win every time at the gem game in the employment office. If anyone is interested in that, let me know and I'll post how)
hope that helps someone!
