For me, the first MOST basic thing to keep in mind when picking out passwords is to use a mix of caps and lower case letters, and numbers (some password systems will let you use symbols as well). Next is to use your favorite hobbies or topics (especially if they're topics/subject that use things/words that aren't used in normal conversations).
If you like sci-fi or fantasy novels (types of words that can be used from this one should be kinda obvious); victorian time period novels (i.e. tea time, drawing room, corsets, rapier, etc); putting-stuff-together hobbies [like types of lines used in sewing, moves used in knitting, kite flying, surfing, parts used in model planes, steps used in/for specific types of dance, arts (painting/drawing styles and materials, ceramics, etc).]
You can also use words based on characters/items/moves used in your favorite video game mixed with caps, lowers, alpha-numerics and symbols.
If you have pets or a fave type of animal, you could base on paraphanelia used in their care.
Use terminology specific to your likes, add caps and lower cases and numbers/symbols.
You get the idea.

My first webkinz's name was Fuzzy.
Also, you can make a username just a jumble of numbers. You can do a phone number and nobody would know! LOL, but I don't recommend that.
One time, i made a password with 2 numbers then a random letter, and kept doing that wuntil i ran out of numbers. here is an example:
