You can use the PrntSc button (next to the F12 button... or close to it). This will print your entire computer screen at the time so make sure you have the room you want on your screen and centered.

Open Paint (Start> Programs> Accessories)

Hit Ctrl + V (CONTROL is right under the SHIFT key- you will need to press and hold Ctrl and then press V... V stands for paste... don't ask me why).

Use the dotted lined box to crop your image. Print screen seriously prints the entire screen so you want to save a nice picture. Hightlight what you want.

Hit Ctrl +C (C stands for copy... makes sense)

Open a new file (FILE> NEW)

Hit Ctrl + V

Then save this new file on your computer.

I personally use SnagIt. You can get it online. When I hit Print Screen (PrtSc) a SnagIt box automatically pops up and I select the part of the screen I want... no having to go through Paint. Then I can edit in SnagIt.

The nice thing too about the program is that you can screen capture in different modes. I can screen shot a scrolling webpage. That means that if you have to scroll off to see the whole page I only have to click once in the middle of the screen and it will scroll and capture the whole webpage for me. Normally, you would have to capture the top of the page, scroll down, capture that page, scroll down, capture again... so you have multiple files to save, one for each part of your screen. I save one file... it's useful... it allowed me to capture the entire WIGEV with only 3 captures (there are 3 pages for the WIGEV).

I can also capture my screen's actions. This allows me to show people what I am doing with my mouse. It is outputted as a .swf file though rather than .gif.

There are a bunch of other things it does... pretty cool program but it was $50. I personally think it was worth it, I use it ALL the time.

I will suggest following Azriel's instructions. Just press Prt sc (print screen) or fn insert (with prt sc in a little box) Good luck!

If you are, go here for instructions. I probably will not be on a whole lot for this holiday weekend but feel free to PM me if you need more help.

When you are on the screen you want to take a picture of, press thPrtScn and/or SysRq button above the Home button on the right side of the keyboard. If you want to crop the image, right click and paste on an editing program (paint.. etc.)then save it, upload on an image uploader, then paste here.
