Great thread. Love your ideas. One can also use the cotton from vitamin and med. bottles. I save it all, even cotton balls will work. Pull it apart to increase the volume by allowing air into the stuffing then compress it when stuffing pet if needed. Airing it prevents it from being lumpy. I have made many dolls over the years and it does make a difference. I love the idea of using straws. If you run our of straws, broken in half wooden bamboo skewers work too and the Chinese restaurants will sometime give a set of chopsticks to take home. You are a great artist and repair service.
