Default How to Take And Post Screenshots With A Mac Computer

I have had several requests for this guide so here it is!

I'm new to my Mac so please be sure and tell me anything relating to this that isn't included in this guide so I can add it for future viewers!

Click the image to open in full size.

The guide on how to take and post screenshots on your Macintosh computer!!

Ok, First, Open your Finder.

Click the image to open in full size.

Then in the search bar at the top of the finder window type in the word "Grab".

Click the image to open in full size.

Then, after it finishes the search, at the top of the search results there should be an application called Grab.

Click the image to open in full size.

Click on Grab and hold the mouse button down. Drag "Grab" to the applicatons folder. This way, it is easier to get to when you want to take a screenshot.

To take a screenshot, Go to the finder and click the application "Grab" twice to open it. Then, up at the top next to the apple icon, choose the capture menu. Then select "Window".

Click the image to open in full size.

A small window will open.

Click the image to open in full size.

Then, go to the window you want to capture and click the "Choose Window" button. A small camera will appear in place of your mouse. Click the window that you want to capture. (The small Grab window will not appear in your photo.) A new window will open with your photo. Then, simply save it somewhere you know where it is, so that you know where it is in a few minutes. You will need to be able to access it again.

Click the image to open in full size.

Then, go to www.tinypic.com and upload your picture. Then copy the second code down. Then, paste it down in your post or pm. When you send the pm or submit the post, the code will be replaced by your picture.

For example: The code before saving your post will look similar to a web address.

After saving it will look like this:

I hope this helped someone out! Feel free to post or PM me with any questions about anything MAC. I'll do my best to find an answer for you! (PM is probably better as I am more likely to recieve it and you will get a more prompt answer.) Thanks guys!

UPDATE: Press down the apple key + SHIFT + 4 to bring up crosshairs. Once you get the crosshairs up, click in the upper corner of the part of the screen that you want to select. Then, while holding down the mouse then drag it till you have your picture into the square. Then release it. This will leave an icon on your desktop.

Click the image to open in full size.

Thanks to users Fork and Mutt for this info!

Click it and it will open a picture of it in Preview. Then Save it.

Click the image to open in full size.

Then, follow the above steps to upload it to tinypic and paste it here on Webkinz Insider!

You know you can just click Apple-Shift-4 as well though, then drag the crosshairs around what you want. It'll appear as a picture on your desktop, too. =3

If you hold down the Ctrl along with the Shift-Apple- 4, you get cross hairs that let you select the picture and it goes directly to the clipboard. Handy if you have a PhotoShop-like app. to paste it into.
