Default How To Make Transparent Backgrounds for Avatars/Siggys {In Microsoft Paint}

Have you ever wanted to make a profesional-looking avatar or siggy, but don't feel like spending hundreds and even thousands of dollars on Photoshop? Here is a step by step guide on how to do it for free- in Microsoft Paint!

Step 1: Open up Paint
(for older computers you will have to go to "All Programs", "Accessories", and then "Paint")

Click the image to open in full size.

Step 2: Open up the picture that you want to use.
(NOTE: it must be saved in "My Pictures". Go to "File", "Open", and select the pic)

Click the image to open in full size.

Step 3: Grab the corner (there should be a little blue box) and pull it out so that there is plenty of white space on the right side.

Click the image to open in full size.

This is what it should look like:

Click the image to open in full size.

Step 4: Go on the WI and find a post that you made and hit the "Prt Scrn" button on your computer (or "FN" and "Prt Scrn" on a laptop) Next in Paint right click "paste" and move the WI screen shot to the right, like this:

Click the image to open in full size.

Step 5: Select the Cropping tool (circled in red) and put a rectangle around the light blue color by your avatar/stars/rep/posts/etc... and right click "Copy", like this:

Click the image to open in full size.

Step 6: Right click "Paste" by the image you are editing, like this:

Click the image to open in full size.

Look at the light blue box in the top left hand corner, this is what it should look like.

Click the image to open in full size.

Step 7: Select the Dropper Tool (circled in red) and click on the little blue-WI-colored box that is on your picture.

Click the image to open in full size.

Step 8: Select the Brush Tool (the green one) and then click on "View", "Zoom", "Custom", and select a higher number that will zoom you in (how much you want to zoom in depends on how big your picture is)

Click the image to open in full size.

Step 9: Now, taking the brush tool begin to fill in the big areas with the WI-blue-color.
(don't do the tiny areas yet)

Click the image to open in full size.

Step 10: Now you can zoom in some more to fill in those teeny tiny areas.

Click the image to open in full size.

and zoom in some more...

Click the image to open in full size.

Step 11: Select the Cropping Tool, put a box around your picture, and right click "Crop".

Click the image to open in full size.

It should turn out looking like this:

Click the image to open in full size.

Step 12: Last step! Go up the "File", "Save As", type in what you want to call it, and make sure JPEG is selected (or else the colors will get messed up ) and hit "Save"

Click the image to open in full size.

And there you have it! To make a siggy, you follow those same steps exept you take the WI-blue-color from your acctual post instead of the side by your avvie.

Enjoy and Good Luck!
