Hello. I'm Jocelyn, today i'll be showing you how to make a low
opacity avatar on photoshop. now, this miiight work on gimp and any
other program, not sure. you can try it out though(:
((step 1)) -Go to File>New>96x96. Now, it can be any size you wish your avatar to be, it
doesn't just have to be 96x96. it can also be 100x100, or 200x200, etc.
-Open up the picture you want to use and re-size it to where you think it is a good size.
Once you do that, you should have something like this; ((step 3)) -Now, let's make your picture look more beautiful. (:
this is optional, you don't have to do this. :3
What I usually do is I go to
Play around with it, and see what you get. :] ^^that's my result^^ if you wanna know how i did this, here
is what you do;
-Time to make your Low Opacity Border! (:
Before that though, make a New Layer above your picture.
Go to the left side on your screen. you'll see a rectangular box filled with
different types of tools. Grab the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" now, highlight your picture so that little dots can be around it.
-Right Click on the picture then a box should pop up, go down to "Stroke" and click it(: Then, another box should pop up, copy what i have right here; **note-MAKE SURE THIS IS ON THE NEW LAYER!**
-Now that you have your border, let's change the opacity. Click on your border layer once
then it should turn blue, this tells you that you have selected it. At the top, you see "Opacity" click on it and change the opacity to however you want. (:
here is how mine turned out; How did mine get like that?
That's all! You now have your Low Opacity Border(: Thanks for reading! Comment and post your results here(:
