Default How To Make Animated Snowglobes-Now With Directions For Paint

~*~*~*~*~Click the image to open in full size.~*~*~*~*~

One of the things I am asked about most often is my avatar. Since so many people have asked how I made it I'm going to make a guide showing you step by step how to make a basic animated snowglobe.

In order to make this you will have to have some type of editing software on your computer. The program I use is Paint Shop Pro XI. You can download a free 30 day trial for PSP if you are interested in giving this product a try or if you are looking for a temporary fix. Here is the link for that download. http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/us/en/Product/1185293041793

For all of you using the standard Paint program that comes on pretty much all computers please go to PAGE 6, POST #57 for directions.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

First of all you need to find a clip art image of a snowglobe. If you would like to you can use the link below for the same snowglobe used in this guide.

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/dogsdigholes/Animated%20Stuff/sphere_006509.jpg

Click the image to open in full size.

Next you will need to erase everything inside the globe. Then you will have to choose a clip art background that you would like to use as your landscape.

Click the image to open in full size.

Once you have erased the inside of your snowglobe you need to "copy" and "paste" your landscape image onto your snowglobe picture.

Click the image to open in full size.

Now you will have to do one of two things. If your editing program will allow you to use layers then simply move the landscape image behind the snowglobe picture and center it. If you can't use layers then you will have to erase the excess landscape image until it will fit inside the snowglobe. This is what your finished product should look like.

Click the image to open in full size.

The next step is to choose an image to go inside your snowglobe. For this example I chose a snowman but you could easily use the Webkinz of your choice. Once you have chosen the picture you are going to use erase all the background from that picture until you are left only with the snowman.

Click the image to open in full size.

Now you "copy" and "paste" your snowman onto your snowglobe picture and center it so that your snowman fits into the scenery.

Click the image to open in full size.

Once you have your snow scene the way you want it "copy" and "paste" a duplicate image. Place them side by side. Now it's time to add the snow. For this example I am using hot pink snow. For your snowglobe white would be more appropriate. All you have to do it pick the paintbrush size you think fits best and make random dots on each of your images. Just be careful that no dots are in the same place on both pictures.

Click the image to open in full size.

You have just completed making your pictures. Now it is time to animate them. Save the two images you just made onto your computer. Then click the link below. You will have to have an account to use this website.

http://www.picture2life.com

Now we are ready to upload our pictures. Click "browse" and find the pictures you just completed. Then click "upload." Once your images have finished loading click "gallery."

Click the image to open in full size.

When you get to your gallery look in the upper right hand corner and click "animate."

Click the image to open in full size.

Click on the pictures in the order you want them to be animated. Then click the button on the right that says "next step."

Click the image to open in full size.

When this screen has finished loading click the "start" button.

Click the image to open in full size.

Now that your animation is running you need to click "download" and save it to your computer.

Click the image to open in full size.

Once you have saved your animation you can either upload the picture directly or go to http://www.photobucket.com and upload the picture there.

Click the image to open in full size.

Now you can choose which link you need for whatever application you are doing. If you are going to add this picture to WI you will need the "direct link."

Click the image to open in full size.

If you just want to post the image then click the "IMG Code."

Click the image to open in full size.

Congrats! You should have just made your first snowglobe. It should look something like this...

That looks so cute Tink! You're giving me a run for my money LOL. My hubby came home early last night so I didn't get to finish the guide. I'll have to wait until I get home this evening and put the rest of it up.

I doubt that lol, you're still the best at animation! And yea I was wondering why there was no finished product, now I know why. The pink snow looks great. Hehe. I'll keep checking back to see if someone else tries it. It's pretty simple instructions I think.
