Welcome to the Alt Code guide - My first guide ever! In this guide you will learn what Alt codes are and how to create them! Please note that this guide only currently encompasses use of 'Alt' Codes with a desktop computer, not a laptop.
An introduction to 'Alt' Codes:
'Alt' codes are a series of numbers and keys used to create a character symbol. Such as the heart symbol, ♥ , as seen in my Gift Exchanges. 'Alt' codes are only able to be created using the keyboard on computers running with Windows 95 or higher. There is a wide range of additional symbols and characters as can be created with 'Alt' Codes. You can also create normal letters from your keyboard, such as 'A' or 'Z'. As well, "foreign" characters, such as 'Ç' or 'å'. In conclusion, 'Alt' codes are a way to create additional characters using a series of keys and numbers.
Using the 'Alt' Code method:
'Alt' codes are very easily and simply created. I will outline this in a series of easy-to-follow steps.
1. Push the 'Num Lock' key.
2. While holding the 'Alt' key down, press the numbers needed on the right-hand number pad to create the special character.
3. Ta-Da! You've just created your first special character using the 'Alt' Code method
