If you have Vista, there is another way to print screen... and more:
Personally, I use SnagIt but Vista apparently came out with a SnagIt type of program already on your computer. You can find it here:
START> ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > SNIPPING TOOL (looks like a red circle with blue scissors)
This will allow you to select a part of the screen by highlighting using a marquee (dotted lined box or other shape available).
1. You don't have to open Paint, paste and crop in Paint. Just use the square and be able to crop anywhere on your screen. NEVER have to use Paint again!
2. You can free form your area, say, if you want to crop around the Webkinz Insider title, you can.
3. You can Print Screen an entire Webpage.
4. You can annotate and circle stuff on Snipping Tool.
You will do everything in SnipIt (like my new name for it? ). It's incredibly like SnagIt because it gives you options on how you want to screen shot and when yo first open it, you can put it on your Quick Start. This tool is only available on the Vista Home Premium and Ultimate as well as the Business versions.
If you have those versions and cannot find it, you may have to to turn it on by going to:
CONTROL PANEL > PROGRAMS > PROGRAMS and FEATURES > TURN WINDOWS FEATURES ON AND OFF
Make sure TABLET PC OPTIONAL COMPONENTS is checked. I know you may not have a tablet PC but you don't need a tablet PC to use the programs associated with it....like Snipping Tool...

Who knew Vista would be so cool? Most of our computers are still XP but my DH's new laptop has Vista. We installed SnagIt (it's by TechSmith and cost $50) but we found the Snipping Tool while trying to help another WI member figure out why he could not use the Print Screen button.

If you have Vista, you will never go back to PrntScn and Paint. I'm not sure, but I know that when I first open SnagIt, from there on, when I hit PrntScn, it opens the SnagIt tool automatically. Perhaps GPX can tell us if that happens with SnipIt. Hopefuly once you have the program opened the first time, everytime after, when you hit PrntScn, it will automatically open SnipIt.

Remember you have to have Vista or a Tablet PC. Have fun!
