If it's okay with Skye, I think I can answer this question.
1. Go to the layers menu and right click on your text layer, and scroll down to "Alpha to Section".
2. Go to Select<Grow and do 1-3 pixels.
3. Go to Layer<New Layer and drag that new layer below the text layer.
4. Go to File<Fill with FG/BG color (choose your color)
5. Then go to Select<None.
Hope this helps.
If you mean the little pixels to make hearts and things like that, you can't. I hope this helps (:
