Default New Valentine's Rooms Incompatible with Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit

I had absolutely no problem with mazin' hamsters at all on webkinz world...ever...from the very beginning when others were having problems...till this latest valentine's day update...now when i do the only maze in the new maze set which actually contains the new rooms [the first easy one] i get the message that my igfx display driver has stopped responding but restored itself...several times...and then if i try that maze set any more my computer freezes and even a soft crash [CTRL-ALT-DEL] will not work and i have to hard crash it...when windows checked online for a solution it said my Deprecated DLL components were incompatible with the version of Windows i am using...it also happened when i was just viewing the new rooms in the mazin' mall...everything else still works fine...no problems with any of the older stuff still...and the other 5 mazes in the new set have been all beaten by me with no problems at all but i believe that they do not contain any of the new rooms...i always start with hardest maze and work backwards to the easiest in a set so i'm only missing the one maze to get the trophy and i had no trouble till i tried to run that one...it won't even install without crashing the igfx display driver and eventually my computer...please help!!....mazin' hamsters are my favorite part of ww and i have about 35 adopted already on that account...including cinnamon & flora...i want to add one of each new one that comes out but will not if i cannot resolve any problems that arise with the hamster section of the website...thanks in advance...

I don't think it matters but the account that i have my hamsters on is North American and Deluxe....thanks, i'm counting on you guys

Oh, and when i googled the windows message [Deprecated DLL Components Incompatible with version of Windows] i found that this is a common problem and means that the application is incompatible with the version of windows...Microsoft technician suggested loading the application in Compatibility Mode and even gave directions on how to do that...but i cannot apply the directions to hamster game...thanks again

Default Re: New Valentine's Rooms Incompatible with Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit

Hello gracekiara and thank you for posting about this problem as I am having the EXACT same problem. I have isolated the catalyst of this problem to be the new heart-shaped Valentine room (Pouring Hearts Room) which is only contained in the first (easy) maze of the newly added Banners Abound maze and in no other areas of the Hamster section.

Because the Pouring Hearts Room is also the starting point of the first easy maze, the problem starts the second your hamster is ready to run the maze. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium and an error message box pops up in the lower right corner stating ~

Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display Driver Intel Graphics Accelerator ..."

And then the screen goes black, freezes, blinks a few times, and freezes again. Only once was I quick enough to capture the attached screenshot of what Mazin' Hamsters looks like as my hamster is on the brink of entering the first easy maze and just before the blackout and blinking begin.

To take it one step further, what I did just now is I tried to create a maze using the Pouring Hearts Room. I dragged a Starting Room into the build area, then a couple of tubes, and that worked fine. Then, just as a dragged the heart-shaped room to attach to a tube, the same "black out" happened. So in this case, I wasn't even running the maze, I just dragged the Pouring Hearts Room into the build area and my computer went haywire.

I have done some research on the web about this but, of course, none of the search results is specific to Mazin' Hamsters, however, the same problem affects a multitude of gamers who play in a variety of Role Playing Games (RPG).

The irony is that this problem will only affect some people and not all. I have two computers using two operating systems (Windows 7 Home Premium as I said, and the other is Windows XP) and two different graphics drivers. My second computer using Windows XP handled the Pouring Hearts Room just fine and thus I was able to complete the first easy maze and get my trophy.

I've had this happen on North American and Asian accounts, both deluxe (not that that makes a difference as the problem is operating system and hardware related).

I have also had this problem happen in IE8, Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Safari ... but this is not a browser-related problem ... it just doesn't matter what browser you are using, if your operating system and graphics driver don't agree with the programming of the newly added Pouring Hearts Room, it's gonna happen to you.

My sister and I can't play the new mazes on either of our computers, either. We both have Vista. I assumed that it was a problem with the maze and that Webkinz would eventually fix it, but if there are only a few of us having the problem, we may be out of luck. My screen just goes black, and then I can almost see the hamster there, but can't do anything with it. I have to x out of the application, and then I get that unity web player crash message. My sister said her computer shuts down and she has to restart it to get out of the maze section. I'm not sure exactly what's going on with her, but when she gets a chance, she'll post here, too. (She's celebrating her daughter's birthday today.)

Thanks so much for responding MysticZon and jellytab...i agree with jellytab that unless we have a large amount of people having the problem ganz will likely not do anything to fix the programming...please spread the word to all you know that are having the problem to post here PLEASE...and lets hope that the problem is only with the valentine's rooms and not future rooms also...and that future maze sets do not use the rooms or rooms that not all of us can access...my trophy collection is complete and i NEED it to stay that way...thanks...

I too am having problems on my PC since the addition of the heart room.
Mine is a bit different though.
It litarelly crashed my computer to something I have never seen. It's not the blue screen of death.
It's a jagged tile kind of thing. I have to hold in my start button and shut it completely down and then restart my computer.
It only started this when I went in the heart room. Now I can't go into any hamster area at all or it crashes.
I have a feeling Unity or the heart room (or both) is tearing up my graphics card.

So far it's running okay on my laptop. Well I get the usual flash crash especially when x out to go make to the WW area.

I have Vista home premium on the PC.
Vista home basic on the laptop.

Yes. I'm affected as well exactly as gracekiara and MysticZon described. Running 3 Vista computers at home and none of them can handle the "Pouring Hearts" room.

Anyone know how to go about alerting Ganz to the problem?

Nickinz2000...you can report it to Ganz by calling 1-866-932-5469 from 9am to 6pm monday thru friday Eastern Standard Time...but if you are not the one that pays the phone bill in your house then ask that person first because this is NOT A FREE CALL...and it goes to Canada i think...it would be great for more people to report it because i called and the computer service guy i talked to did not give me the standard "it must be your computer" line...but unless the programmer that got the message from the customer service guy i talked to was able to reproduce the problem on his/her computer [not likely with only 6 people reporting a problem on WI] then our only chance of getting the room changed is with a huge number of calls [also unlikely for the same reason]...here's hoping that the room programming eventually gets changed or else it does not show up in any other maze sets in the future and future rooms ganz releases do not suffer from the same "sloppy programming"...which is a direct quote from the computer professional who remotely entered my computer system to check out this specific problem...

Wow, that is a NASTY problem. I hope it gets fixed. I haven't had any problems with the heart maze, and I'm running the same version of Vista as gracekiara. It does sound like shoddy programming since its a problem with the .dll file.
