Default browser specific issues

For some time now:

Internet explorer: the only job I can do is kinzville mover. The others freeze. I can do any in firefox.

Firefox: I cannot load my dock. Flash crashes, but I can load it, albeit slowly, with Internet Explorere.

Chiclet,

I hope this helps - to your issue with Firefox and the Adobe Flash Crashing when you try to load your dock - here is a copy/paste from another thread I have posted in relating to this issue (Adobe Flash Player Crashing???):

Follow this link for help with Adobe Flash Player on Firefox. Mine kept crashing too a while back because I had too many strawberries in my dock. When I made this change, it would ask me if I wanted to continue or not......Can't remember exactly what the box said, but I answered "NO" and it finally came up. This may be a different issue altogether, but it could not hurt to try it. Here is the link:

The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed | Troubleshooting | Firefox Support

BY THE WAY, THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS CHANGING SETTINGS TO YOUR FIREFOX BROWSER SETTINGS. THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE DIRECTLY FROM THE FIREFOX HELP WEBSITE. FOLLOW THE LINK. IF YOU ARE A CHILD, PLEASE GET YOUR PARENT'S HELP ON THIS BEFORE PROCEEDING.

Follow this link (The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed | Troubleshooting | Firefox Support) and then go down to the directions for Disable hang protection. The details are below.

Disable hang protection

You can disable hang protection to prevent Firefox from killing a hanging plugin process, regardless of how long it's taking. Crashes in the plugin will still be caught and will not terminate the browser process.
  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press EnterReturn.
    • The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.
  2. The about:config page should appear. In the Filter box, type dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs
  3. Double click the setting and change the number to -1 to disable hang protection.
Click the image to open in full size.

Thanks, but it didn't work for me. There must be something else going on.

I am sorry to hear that this is still going on. I reverted back to an older version of Firefox and I don't get the flash player crashing for me anymore (all that -1 configuration setting change did for me with the new version of firefox is freeze my screen -- the flash player no longer crashed, but I still couldn't do anything in WW because my screen would totally freeze.) I am using the old version 3.5.11 and I downloaded from the Mozilla site when they were still supporting it. You can check if they still have it on their official website.

I was hoping that they would have fixed this by now. It has been going on for months. I almost downloaded the newest version a couple of days ago (I just figured they fixed it). But, now I am glad I didn't (unless you don't have the newest version. Maybe if you downloaded a newer version than the one you are using, then it will work okay? Please let us know if you are using the newest version of Firefox.)

SnowCrystal... You are exactly right. I did not notice that my Adobe Flash Player was crashing until I updated to the latest version of Firefox. That is when I had to do something to make it work. I am having good luck with the new Firefox version since I got that "hang time" changed. If I were you I would not change a thing if it is working good for you.

Chiclet.... I wish you luck. I am sorry that I could not be of more help to you.

sorry you are having browser problems. i would say to get rid of the current two browsers and re-install. i would go to their web sites to find out how to properly delete the browser. also do a registry cleaning. or maybe look at windows updates. maybe you can do a restore back to when the browsers were working correctly. try registry cleaner first and second windows restore. good luck...

The job issue started when Webkinz introduced the Kinzville Mover job. So I suspect that is not a browser issue.

I am running v3.6.13 I believe this is the latest version.

I forgot, the wheel of yum won't work on IE. It says I have 50 spins and If I remember correctly, it then freezes. Also, the quick draws don't work in IE.

Having a lot of items in your doc, can cause WW to crash? Im trying to find out cause i do have a lot in my doc and WW constantly crashes. I have done updates and changed my FF settings. If this is the root cause i will be selling my tons of fruits and veggies ASAP. Thanks for your replies.
