Question Just A Quick Question

Ok I have been thinking and honestly it has me worried. You know how all toys that come out like beanie babies are really popular and than people eventually loose interest. Well I'm worried that this may happen to Webkinz and that not enough people would be purchasing the pets to run the site. So they would no longer be able to afford all the staff memebrs and fees. Therefore Webkinz goes away . Do you think that this will eventually happen? Because talk about all that money down the drain we have spent, I would be heart broken.

I have thought that b4 too, but I think personally, that the way Webkinz is selling, the popularity, how much they are adding 2 it (like trading cards, new webbies, etc), and how long its been lasting is a sign that Webkinz will last. that is my opinion.

Webkinz has the lowest target age group out of any online multiplayer game. While a good portion of adults and teens play the actual target age is 4-12. There is no other game that targets that market in a way webkinz does.

The only way webkinz will fail is if they do not update the site and make more options and enhance it. I also fear their customer support is so difficult to get a hold of. and keeping their toys in stock of course....

I think they got real big to fast and can't keep up with production. I have never heard back from their support at all they don't respond to email or comments and suggestions with us. If I'd have any complaint it's that there doesn't seem to be any support. But I think they'll be around for quite a while. Although the demographics are for kids 4-12 they'd probably be surprised at how many people are older who love it.

Actually, I know many teenagers who have webkinz! I think it's great, as it keeps them out of trouble. I also know adults who play the games, etc (Me included). The tween/teen market is a multi-billion dollar market. Kids have lots of money to blow. I think webkinz will be around for a long long time. Beanies were just collectibles, webkinz are collectibles with another dimension... computerland! And really, it doesn't cost that much to join the club for a year. Plus you have a real toy along with it!

I have spoken directly to a Ganz rep about a problem, so I think the customer service is good. Also, if they put too many webkinz out "there", they are not sought after as much. Supply and demand. Doesn't it make you want to buy when you see one because you know how rare it is?

True about supply and demand. I find myself avoiding the common ones and going for the harder to find and more in demand pets.

As far as customer service goes my experience is its non existent. IF you do not have access to forums like these it can take up to 10+ minutes to find contact information. If your problem is not listed on their long list of "pre-answered" questions then you are out of luck for the most part. I have contacted them several times about issues I have only once received a reply when an item was stuck in my room proving I get responses.

I also hate the fact that they have no email support. All responses I have seen involve "please call this number" which is great for some people but not for me. I work 8am-6pm pacific time. I can not call during their business hours unless I call from work. What really gets me is the fact that I have a few hearing impaired friends. What if they have an issue? Obviously if you are hearing impaired you can use a computer but not a phone but it seems if you cant make a call you cant get decent help. And then there is the constant phone tag if you do have to call customer service.

So if they start to grow and plan on offering codes on more than just their stuffed toys they will need a better support team. If they do not get a better support team or a system that makes it easier to get a response players are going to get annoyed.

Online games are popping up every day. Its a very competitive market with a turnover of 90 days for all new users of an online game. If you can not keep your customer satisfied with support or supplied with items you will lose players faster than you can say kinzcash.

Hi,
Your slightly right. The reason it won't go out of style is beanie babies didn't go online like Webkinz do. The only problem is they don't sell Webkinz at regular stores so that might cut out busness also.

I think this is something alot of us have thought about. I did the Beanie Babies and they are now stored up in my attic. Webkins are geared toward smal children, but appeal to a broad range of people for different reasons. I am a (very young, of course) grandmother, and this is something my daughter, her small daughter, and I can all do together. My granddaughter loves the stuffed animals and playing the on line games geared toward very young children. My daughter and I love playing with her, but, we love the collectibility of the on line items , the creativity, as well as the thrill of the chase for rare items.
Webkins are affordable for those with limited means (one Webkins gives you a year of play), but they will succeed as they appeal to the collectors out there who have to have it all!
Long live our Webkins!

Yeah, i have 155 beenie babies but dont paly with them as much as i used too. the problem with webkinz is that they make them so hard to find that you can never find new ones! I have all the common ones execpt the love puppy, black lab and leopard. every other 1 i have is common and easy to find (and i have 21) I love webkizn a lot, but the point is that eventually, they will be so hard to find that people might just stop looking. I am afriad that when im a teenager that i will still ahve webkinz that wont be popular, and i know many kids who are older than me who have them. Another downside is that ganz might run out of ideas.

Ps does anyone on the stafff @ webkinz insider work for ganz?

and... they are like 15 bucksnear me what a waste of money!!1 i luv my webkinz!
