Default Does anyone else miss the "stringy" Webkinz?

I was just thinking how all the Webkinz used to be made with that "stringy" material, and how now NONE of the new Webkinz coming out are made with it anymore. I don't know about you guys, but I kind of miss it. I mean, don't get me wrong, all the Webkinz are cute and I love the variety of the fabrics, especially the extra soft ones like the Sherbet Bunny and Koala! It's just that the stringy material definitely set Webkinz apart from other stuffed animals, and even though I'm not saying all Webkinz should be made with it, I think a few of them should! Even looking at the Meet the Webkinz section of the news, the stringy material virtually disappears after the second page (save the Google and Leopard)! I mean, the last one they made with that material was the Leopard, and before that, it was way back to the original set, with the Google, Alley Cat, or Monkey, you know?

What do y'all think? Do you like the old stringy material, or should Ganz stick with the new, different, softer ones? I like both types, but I definitely think some new Kinz adorned with stringy fur would be great!

That's an interesting point! I didn't notice that at all lol. I like both types too, and even the ones made of stringy material have some soft parts, like the google's beak...it feels like velvet (sort of). The new ones are really really soft though, which I also like. A few of the animals would just look too strange if they were made of that stingy stuff, like the chihuahua, or the labs (chocolate and black). Of the two labs I only have the chocolate one, and it's really nice and soft! I wouldn't be able to choose between the different types of material, but I think they should sort of alternate and make some out of stringy material and some out of soft material in the future.

Hm, yes, I believe after December most of the Webkinz Ganz made weren't using the stringy material. I hope I'm not sounding too complicated. You know some of the earlier Webkinz, such as the cow, hippo, the cats, cocker spaniel, lion, and others, are made with the material with little "strings" sticking out? And now the new Kinz, like the raccoon, labs, horses, beagle, husky, etc, are just the super soft chenille-y material? Even online, some of the Webkinz have little strings coming off them. That's the difference. If you look at the first two pages of the "Meet the Webkinz" you can see the strings, after that, it's mostly "smooth" material.

Yeah, valkinz, but the rabbit and panda's strings are closer together. On the older ones they're much more sparse, you can see the material underneath them.

I love the stringy ones...but I think they might have discontinued using that type of material. The new ones are soft, and nice, but the old ones just say Webkinz to me for some reason. They didn't look like every other stuffed animal out there...they were unique!!
