I brought a black and white cat yesterday, but I noticed that the tag by its tail is different from all my other webkinz. The tag on the cat is kinda square shapped, and one side is written in english and the other one in spanish french... could this be a counterfeit webkinz or a new/old tag that I've never seen before?
UPDATE: I activated the cat and it worked fine... I'm guessing its and older version of the newer tag... and another thing that I noticed was that the secret code was all letters, no numbers...

I'll try to find my camera and take a pic...
ok heres a pic of the cat
and heres a pic of a reindeer's tag...

I looked at one of my older Webkinz, the Little Chihuahua. Its two tags on the back leg are oblong (long square). The Ganz tag is embroidered. The other tag which has legal required material content information is in English on one side and French on the other side.
I think that the ultimate test of your pet's authenticity is whether or not its code works in the adoption agency.
Probably depends on where it's made. I'm guessing they must have more than one factory, most likely all overseas. So even though they all make the same product from the same pattern, there would be slight variations and the tags would be diferent so they can tell which factory made a certain pet.
Oh, hey, while we're on the subject, I wanna be more positive on of my webkinz isn't counterfeit:
I got an original cheeky dog off ebay, no tags, a couple months ago, for, like, $20. Since its tags are used, I can't use that method of making sure it's real. So, does any one know if the really old pets (like, from 2005 or 2006) are supposed to have the embroidered ganz tag? Cause this cheeky dog doesn't. It has 2 tags on it's bottom-one long, skinny one and and on short fat one.
