The Zumwhere Cloud Challenge game, where you have to click the clouds from the lowest number to the highest, needs to be fixed. About 1/2 the time when our family gets this game as the challenge, one of the clouds will remain over another one for the entire time limit, so you can't see what the number is on the bottom cloud. It's like 2 clouds are frozen together.
This most often happens on the first of the 3 levels. There is no way to win unless you happen to make a lucky guess and how fun is that? If you try to wait, you run out of time, which makes guessing your only option and losing is pretty much guaranteed. Shouldn't a child at least have a fair chance at it? Especially when I would assume using good math skills is the object? It is frustrating to explain to your child why they have to keep waiting for the clouds to separate and they never do. When it gives you an even chance, my kids love this game and it is one of their favorite challenges. | | | 11-19-2009, 10:25 AM | #2 | Banned Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 15,090 | Re: Zumwhere Cloud Challenge I know what you mean with this challenge! IttyGirl and I do this one together because two sets of eyes are better than one. I've noticed that at the very beginning that elusive cloud is visible. If you happen to notice that number when the game starts, then you are much better off. Of course you have to wait until the cloud appears again before you can click on it.
If we both play this game together, we usually win. The key is being very observant when it first starts. | | | 11-19-2009, 10:26 AM | #3 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Aug 2008 Posts: 796 | Re: Zumwhere Cloud Challenge I know. It can be frustrating. Guess that's the "challenge" part. To me, the puzzler thing is super hard. | | | 11-19-2009, 10:36 AM | #4 | texasanne Gift Guru Join Date: Feb 2009 Posts: 2,052 | Re: Zumwhere Cloud Challenge I hate when that happens too. I agree with Mrs. Shimmer: you have to quickly click the clouds to prevent overlapping clouds. But sometimes, it's just gonna randomly mess up like that. | | | 11-19-2009, 11:43 AM | #5 | Happy Holidays! They programed it so they do NOT check if the clouds have the same speed and the same path. If they put a check in the program to make sure the clouds don't have the same speed and path, then this would never happen.
Also, when all of the clouds are really big, then sometimes the whole 30 seconds go by and you can't even see which clouds have the negative sign because that part of the cloud is always covered up by another cloud. | | | 11-19-2009, 11:51 AM | #6 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 1,363 | Re: Zumwhere Cloud Challenge I love that challenge, I get it each time...but I love numbers...and my brother is sometimes next to me....and he's real good a spotting things....

Negative numbers aren't taught until several grades into elementary school... let alone the stuck cloud problem which as an adult I've had major issues with. I too cringe when I get this challenge, it could use a bit of tweaking!! Last edited by Symphonie; 11-19-2009 at 12:12 PM.. I agree with SnowCrystal. A simple tweak to the programming would eliminate this problem and at least give a kid a shot at winning. | | | 12-13-2009, 07:33 AM | #10 | Diabetes Awareness Gifted Join Date: Oct 2009 Posts: 1,511 | zumwhere challanges the clouds cover my shuffle or memory screen before the time is up - and i usually end up botching the challange as i can't see everythign properly
