Where did all the clothes in the W-Shop go?

The clothing section of the W-Shop has been removed and most (but not all) clothing items from the W-Shop are now available at the Kinzstyle Outlet.

Two items (the Berry Fresh Swimsuit Top, and the Berry Fresh Swimsuit Bottom,) are still available for purchase at the Curio Shop.

Where can I find the Kinzstyle Outlet and the Clothing Machine?

The Kinzstyle Outlet can be reached through your "Things To Do" menu

To go to the Clothing Machine, click the yellow Clothing Machine Button in the Kinzstyle Outlet.

What does the Clothing Machine do?

When you place 3 clothing items into the Clothing Machine, it will combine them to make a brand new outfit!

How do I use the Clothing Machine?

Drag 3 clothing items into the empty circles

Click the "Make It" button

Your new creation will be shown and added to your dock

What kinds of clothes can I put into the Clothing Machine?

"The Clothing Machine will only take your common clothes (stuff from the Outlet Shop, or clothing you get on vacation) — special clothing like holiday items or KinzStyle clothing can’t be used with the Clothing Machine."

Additionally, clothing made from the clothing machine, cannot be put back in to make more clothing.

Note: Some people are stating that they can also put Curio Shop clothing into the Clothing Machine. Since Webkinz Newz (an official Ganz site) did not state that Curio Shop clothes could be used, this may be a glitch.

Does the order of items in the machine matter?

The order of the items in the machine does not matter.

Can I use more than one of the same item?

You can only use one of each item. (For example, you can't use 3 of the same shirt, or two clogs and one shirt etc.)

Can we eliminate clothing already used? For example, since we have already used the ruby slippers or princess hat to make the glass slippers, will those items not be used in any of the other new clothing?

When new Recipe Foods are introduced to Webkinz Word, a group of them are usually introduced at the same time. With Recipe Foods, it seems that ingredients are only used once per group. So if an ingredient was used to solve one Recipe Food, that ingredient would not be part of the recipes for the remaining Recipe Foods that were released at the same time (though they may be used in Recipe Foods introduced at a later date.)

It's not certain whether the Clothing item combinations will work the same way, but it's very likely that they will. If they do, then clothing used in an already solved item, will not be used in any other item that was released at the same time. -But again, we don't know this for sure yet.

How many different clothes can be made?

When the machine first came out, Webkinz Newz stated on 9/16/09 "there are a dozen or so other recipes to discover." The number of items that can be made is expected to be added to over time, just like the food recipes.

What are the Patchwork Clothes?/How can I make the Patchwork Hat/Jacket/Pants?

Any incorrect combination of clothing will result in a RANDOM patchwork item (either a hat, jacket, or pants.) You can put the same three items in over and over again and get a different patchwork item each time.

(Note: If you're trying to make patchwork items, you may as well use the three least expensive items, which are the 15kc bows, and the 10kc red belt (unless something on sale is cheaper!) Just keep using those three over and over again until you get what you want!

★ How can I find out which combinations people have tried and are working on?

How do the "Specials" at the Kinzstyle Outlet work?

Every hour there is a different clothing item on sale, under the "Specials" sign, at the Kinzstyle Outlet. This can really help you save kinzcash when you're buying lots of clothes to try combinations in the clothing machine!

As of Oct 9th '09, you can only buy one item on "Special" sale per hour.

Times and Time Zones: Unlike the Curio Shop, (where items appear according to the local time for each time zone) the same item will be on sale simultaneously in all three time zones. So if you're seeing an item on sale at the Kinzstyle Outlet on your American account, you should also be able to see that same item in your European account and Asian account at that exact same moment.

Getting the discounted price: You must buy the sale item from the area marked "Specials" (right below PJ) to buy it at the discounted price because it will still be listed at the regular price in the categories section (see prices circled in the picture below.)

(Don't forget, you can also find clothing sales in the Clearance section of the Kinzstyle Outlet, at the Curio Shop, and in the Daily Activities too!)

Surprises: Webkinz Newz and PJ have also hinted that there may be "surprises" available in the hourly Specials section. No news yet on what those might be!

Price Glitch (Feature?): There is currently a glitch (or feature?) that will sometimes enable you to get an even LOWER price on the hourly special. It seems to happen randomly if you visit the Curio Shop first. The glitch has been seen on both Asian and American accounts so far. Thanks to jms40 for the screencap below.

Is there a way to know what the "Special Sale" items are in advance?

YES! The same items are on sale in the first and second half of the day. So if an item is on sale at 12 midnight, that same item will be on sale later that day at 12 noon. If an item is on sale at 1am, that same item will be on sale later that day at 1pm etc.

How can I get PJ to STOP TALKING?

PJ seems to give the "long welcome speech" for each first visit to the Outlet after logging out and back in. The first time you arrive at the Kinzstyle Outlet, you really should listen to everything she has to say. After that, if you don't want to hear her entire speech again, once she starts talking, click on the menu to go to the Newspaper, then click on the menu again and return to the Outlet. PJ's "welcome back" speech should be shorter.

FYI: Even when PJ is talking, you can still select and click on the items behind her -even if you can't see what you're clicking on

I'm getting a blue box/screen/I didn't get my clothing item

If you see a blank blue screen when you try to access the Kinzstyle Outlet OR
If you made a clothing item but it showed a blank box OR
If you made a clothing item but it did not appear in your dock

-Try clearing your cache, logging out, restarting your browser, and logging back in again. Alternatively, you could download and try a completely different browser.

Thanks for the useful information! I was just about to post a thread asking if the patchwork clothes were random, but you already answered the question for me.

I want to make a patchwork hat, but I keep getting pathwork pants and shirts! LOL

You're welcome

It's completely random. You could use all shoes and get a hat

My suggestion would be to buy 3 inexpensive items (two 15kc bows and a 10kc red belt) and keep putting them in the machine until you get what you want! -Alternatively, you could use up any excess black t-shirts and clogs you have sitting in your dock from the past months' wheel prizes and add a red belt for the third item.
