Like how Bamboo Break is really Tetris? And Goober's Lab is pretty much like Bejeweled? Is Eager Beaver based on any "in real life" game? I'm asking because my dad (who is in his late 70's) saw me and my nephew playing it and wanted to get it. My sister jokingly told me that we should get him a Webkinz for Father's Day

but I don't want him to have to go through all the steps of logging into WKW, going to the arcade, etc. etc. I just want to get the game for him...if it exists!

Can anyone help? TIA!

Good question! Unfortunately, I don't have an answer. I am not an avid arcade gamer, but I find this game, much like Quizzy's Word Challenge, reminds me of the old school game 'Boggle'. I really haven't played a game like this before, and since you are not timed, it is unlikely that this game will resemble any arcade games. Maybe it is based on a kid's board game or one of those learning games you can get for kids on CD-ROM. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I think it is a lot like Bespelled, or whatever that computer game is called!

The game it most resembles is Bookworm.

Eager Beaver is very similar to Bookworm. Bookworm has various levels and you get more points for longer words, words with special letters, etc. The game is timed though which is a big difference. The worm is on a quest and battles enemies by completing various levels. It is a game that can become quite addictive

You can purchase it online and download it. I think it was around $20 when I got my version. I think your Dad would like it alot if he enjoys Eager Beaver.

It's very similar to Bookworm. If you get the full version, there are 2 ways to play: classic and action. Action has the burning tiles while timed. Really a challenge. Fun!

I will look into both a computerized version of Boggle (I'm assuming one's got to be out there, along with all the other board games that are now available for a computer system) and also for Bookworm.
