Anyway Gantz did partner with Alvin and the Chipmonks at one time right? Wonder if they would do it for Sports or I know, how about Harry Potter since Halloween is around the corner, heheh. You can brush up on your spells to unlock doors and light hallways and buy the cloak of invisibility.
Only kidding. =) | | | 09-17-2009, 03:59 PM | #2 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Jul 2008 Posts: 92 | Re: I know... Gantz should partner with Major Leage Sports Not a bad idea, but not likely.
Major league sports don't really "team up" with other companies. Other companies have to pay them to use thier products, logos, etc. Each team gets a portion, players association gets a cut, etc.
Sure, Ganz can afford to spend some money to promote this, but I am sure they would choose not to spend the thousands/millions to.
BUT, I think Ganz could come up with something to give MLB, NFL, etc free webkinz designed for each team to promote coming out to the ballfield, in exchange for using the sports logos, but when it comes to deals like that it pretty much has to be something ALL the teams have an interest in.
I really think Ganz is missing out on just the opposite. Movies promote like crazy. They spend millions promoting new releases. I think Ganz is missing out on some of this. The movie could pay Ganz to promote thier movie, a little ad box, a few chances of winning or buying items from that movie just during the promo time, etc. The movie wins, it gets promoted, Ganz wins, it gets money, and we win since it gives us a chance to get a few items that are fun and will be rare someday since after promo we can't get them anymore.
If people don't like it, they click the box for no 3rd party ads.
I bet Ganz is worried about people thinking they "sell out" and don't want parents mad that "thier son wants to see Harry Potter and his mad violent movie".
Some parents will complain no matter how tame the movie is.
