Hi everyone! Just checking in from a long day, and my last day of class for my Bachelor's degree! Now I just have to make it through student teaching 4th graders, but that will be fine. It's sort of bittersweet tonight, two of my best friends in the program have just had one of their parents diagnosed with cancer this week (both had survived it, and now it has returned), and another member of our cohort has good reason to believe that she may have cancer, and her doctor's appointment is this week. I'm at such a loss of words as to what to say to my friends....I just don't know where to begin, and I hate that I can't help them at all. Right now we have so much on our plates, as we are expected to run a classroom of kids, and now these friends have to deal with this too. Sorry for venting, it just hurts me to see these friends in pain, and I wish I could take some of their burden, but I know I can't. Why is it that when it rains, it pours?

Hi Bindi friend.. 'so happy for you, but so sad for your friends .. life really stinks sometimes.. it is so not fair to have such rain on what should be a bright sunny day for you and your hard-working friends ... I am so sorry to hear of their hardships ...

Bindidog sorry to hear about your friends. When one of my friends was in the same situation and I felt helpless I participated in the Avon walk in honor of her. When they first started that walk it was 3 days 60 miles I would call her at the pit stops during the walk not only did it mean a lot to her but I felt I was doing something for her and many other women.

Congrats on your road to becoming a teacher!! My DD will be going into that grade.

Marnabear, I love the new avvie! Your monkey looks so snugly and ready to join in the Pajama Party video! Your bowling alley room looks almost identical to the clubhouse. Wonderful job. I actually like yours much better because it is so bright and inviting.

JMS, thank you for the information on the Dice Kinz game and packs. Unfortunately, I am, and will probably remain, clueless..... I remember my oldest DD starting the collection of the Pokemon cards years ago. The way each card had different powers and actions were so confusing to me and I had a better memory then. Still couldn't get it, but thank you again for trying to help this old dog!

DJCandy, I am glad you are renewing your Deluxe membership and I hope your birthday was a magical one for you!

Cheeky, we will miss you. Thank you for letting me know the rug is only 2 squares. What a disappointment. It would have been nice to have at least been the size of the Princess Palace theme rug. Hopefully you can find some time this weekend to visit us!

Bindidog, first of all...Congratulations on a wonderful achievement! I applaud you for going into education. It is a wonderful career with so many rewards. The school you choose will truly be blessed!
Now for your friends and their news. I am so sorry. I can't give you advice or tell you things will be okay, I don't have that crystal ball. However I can, and will, hold you and your friend's and their families in my thoughts and prayers.

Tashytoot, I hope the morning sickness, stay's to a minimum and only to mornings for you. Our school system sounds similar in age groups as yours. Our Kindergarten begins once a child is 5 by September of the year they begin. The fourth grade class should be the age group of 9-10 year olds.

Butterflies, I love the new avvie! I feel like chomping that chocolate bunny when I see him too! Have a super day and hopefully we'll see you again this evening. How's Argyle now the Leprechaun hunt is over? Now that he has a little free time, do you think you could ask him to fix the popcorn maker issue?

SZ, Good Morning! What a beautiful thing you did for your friend. How those walks help you to help others and meet new people. It gives you so much inspiration to continue to help. I have done similar walks for Alzheimers. I lost my stepfather in April 08 to that terrible disease. I feel the need to still help when I see another event going on. I hope your friend is fighting it and staying strong. She is blessed to have you there for her!

hey Val....yes, the crocuses are in bloom, and the hyacinths and tulips are making their way up..
I just love spring!! And 65 today..yay! The nieces and nephews are just loving being outside again.

I don't often quote the posts (I write so much that I try to keep my posts shorter) but I had to quote yours because it made me laugh so much! When I read that maybe the problems you have with getting in to the clubhouse are because there are no doors, I just busted out laughing. Good thing everyone else has left for the day!

cheekydb - miss you! So glad you were able to pop in and hope things settle down soon and you can spend more time with us. Lots of people (including me) are rather disappointed at the size of the Jade Persian Rug. Oh well, it will help the KC levels to not feel that I have to have a bunch of them LOL!

bindi - congrats again on finishing up your class work for your teaching degree! So sorry to hear that the final day was marred by so much sad news. Not much we can do in those instances other than pray and be there to listen/help if there are opportunities. So glad you were able to vent - that is one of the reasons we are all here.

tashy - hope you are eventually able to finish the training you need to be able to teach. I had planned to be a teacher when I started college but things happened along the way to change the plans. I ended up as a computer programmer LOL! However, I have found many ways over the years to satisfy my passion for teaching from Sunday School to my Creative Memories business (helping people with their photo album projects - involves quite a bit of teaching, not just sales) and other things along the way.

The crocuses started popping up here yesterday. I was surprised to read that the official start of spring is almost here! That one snuck up on me but I am ready LOL!

good morning everyone!!! hope everyone managed to find the leprechaun and find their pots of gold. i hope we will soon start hunting eggs in the park or clubhouse for easter. sounds like everyone has spring fever! it is so nice to jump from one event to another. keeps us busy and out of trouble for the most part. after easter we will have summerfest again then nothing til halloween and fallfest. we need some more summer activities
