I have one and I have to say that it's realyl cute... the plush is soft and the site is adorable
Cost (ecspecially since i have to buy my own!) Mine was $24.99
Location (easy to find?) People say they're really hard to find, but they're really not. Just call around.
Is Webkinz Jr. Fun and interactive? Yes! They clap when they earn money or finish a game, they go under the covers and it is really fun.
Activities : How entertaining are they? Entertaining for a 3-6 yr old, pretty fun for older people... I'm definitely out of the age group but still love my Webkinz Jr.
Addiction : Can i easily get addicted to it like Webkinz World? Probably not. There aren't "exclusive items" or anything... you could but not as easily as WW.
And.... Is it just plain worth it? Could i tell within the first day that it was ment for me? or is it something that takes a while to sink in? I think it is definitely worth it. My little cousin shares my account with me and he loves it. I love it too.
But overall I don't reccomend getting one. Yeah, the site's cute, but it's already boring for me. I wouldn't have gotten the Webkinz Jr if I wasn't going to share it with my cousin. Do most 6 year olds know how to use the computer correctly? i have a sister who is 5 and knows nothing about it! i try to teach her but she just can't do it correctly! | | | 06-26-2009, 10:13 PM | #16 | Farglesword Webkinz :) Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 447 | Re: I'm a bit curious.... I was thinking most of the same questions, and I'm glad someone beat me to it because that means you're already getting answers!
Webkinz Jr. pets are very cute - everyone agrees on that much. But they are quite expensive; I think they cost about $30, and I'm not even sure how much they are in Canada because Canadian prices are always a little higher than American prices. I would guess that they are maybe $35 here. Okay, they're about $31 with tax in BC.
But the biggest problem with spending that much money on an adorable pet with online capabilities is what you get out of it. We've all got to remember, Webkinz Jr. is designed for children ages 6 and under. So we've got to wonder whether games made for six-year-olds are going to be any fun or challenge for people who are likely 14+. That's a complete guess, but that's who I would assume would be tempted to buy Webkinz Jrs. Maybe the games and activities are just as cute as the plush, but how long before that wears off?
I don't deny that Webkinz Jrs. are cute, but how much would we really get out of it? Not too much by my estimate. $30 is a little too much for something that doesn't give back. For that price I could go out and buy a video game or a movie or two. And I know I would get more entertainment.
So, really cute, but too expensive. Let's wait until they drop to $15 or $20. | | | 06-26-2009, 11:22 PM | #17 | Happy Valentines Day Webkinz :) Join Date: Jun 2009 Posts: 4,160 | Re: I'm a bit curious.... .... glad your cousin like it! | | | 06-27-2009, 02:11 AM | #18 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Jul 2008 Posts: 1,513 | Re: I'm a bit curious.... We're not supposed to say ages, but my daughter who is at the young end of the WJ age range has been using the computer alone for a long time. My other daughter who is at the upper end of the WJ range has been using the computer on her own for a couple years at least.
It's a fine motor skill, so it takes practice. | | | 06-27-2009, 09:04 AM | #20 | 5 kids=hard to be a Gift Guru Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 1,439 | Re: I'm a bit curious.... Originally Posted by crystal00000 - Cost (ecspecially since i have to buy my own!)

They are well worth the price, but more as a small child's educational game. It's very fun and interactive, but on a much younger level. The activities are fun and educational, but again, on a younger level. My young daughter begs to play all the time and squeals and laughs constantly while she is on. I also think she is learning from the site. If you're older, though, how much fun are you going to have searching for letters and numbers or repeating simple musical patterns? I think you'd probably get bored pretty quickly. Also, I don't know what you love about WW, but one thing that a lot of people are into is decorating their rooms. WJ has far fewer choices and you can't really rearrange anything. Great for the little ones, but kinds boring for older kids and adults.
Personally, if I were going to spend that kind of money, I'd get a signature pet or a couple new Webkinz. The Signature Webkinz are big and cuddly like the WJ, but come with awesome PSIs and signature exclusives. | | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off
