He doesn't know how to read quite yet... and he can only count to 10. I was curious if Webkinz Jr. was a good website for a boy like this... so I could suggest it to his mom. Please help me! __________________ Proud Owner of 35 Webbies! First Pet: Spot Latest Pet: Comet | | | 07-08-2009, 08:24 AM | #2 | Go Dallas Cowboys!! Or just wait till he is a little better at reading. But it is still a great site for him to learn. I have never had a webkinz jr, so I don't know what it is like. __________________ Feel free to visit the homeschoolclub and the JesusFreakClub! PM me to hear about animals. This would be a GREAT site for him! He falls right in the target age range for this product. One great thing about this site is that it does not require a kid to read. You can set the games for different age levels and mouse control levels. In our home we have two of these accounts, and one is for a child who only knows the letters in their own name, and one child who is reading small books. It really is a great site. If this child likes the computer, they will love it. Everything is very simple, but still very fun. The different items that the kids can buy for their pets are all very cheap, so the kids wont feel a major crunch to be earning a lot of cash. And, as the child gets older and better at the games, the parents can go in and adjust the difficulty levels. One other thing that both of my kids like about this site is how encouraging it is. When the child plays a game and does good their pet will sit and clap and cheer for them. Very, very cute!!!!
Side note, this site will help the child learn their numbers and letters So there is really no need for him to already know this stuff! | | | 07-08-2009, 11:42 AM | #4 | here art thou Webkinz :) Join Date: Apr 2009 Posts: 541 | Re: Is This a Good Website for 3-year-olds? I don't really know a lot about it, but it sounds like he would have a lot of fun!
Maybe if he can't read, his mom could help him. You should still suggest it to the mom, I think she'd be the one to decide. __________________

He could play the games, but if he couldn't read, the whole experience is ruined. His mom could start the games for him, and then it'd be a maybe, but i wouldn't recommend it.

I think the Webkinz Jr. would be a great website for a 3 year old boy especially if he already love the computer. Jessicabarnhart summed it up perfectly.
The other great thing about the site is everything including all the instructions are verbal. So it’s OK if he doesn’t know how to read. All the cute activites will help him learn his numbers and alphabet. Plus, your pet constantly gives positive reinforcement by clapping and giving a bit toothy grin. It's very cute.
I have an account for my son and even though he still needs some help using the mouse, he loves the site. We always play together and I help him out so it’s a great activity to do together. And he loves that he gets to play on mommy’s big computer!
One thing to keep in mind. There are still some glitches that Ganz is working out and some members are having more difficulty than others. We’ve been lucky and only had some minor issues and they haven’t bothered my son. | | | 07-08-2009, 06:17 PM | #7 | I Like Panda Webkinz :) Join Date: Jul 2009 Posts: 12 | Re: Is This a Good Website for 3-year-olds?
