How in the world do you clear more than 4 lines at once?

In the bamboo break it wants you to clear so many line in each challenge to get bonus chips I can't figure out how to clear more than 4 lines at once.

It just wants you to clear six lines before the time is up. It is really helpful to have it ready for the long piece, though. The game says three lines at once or four lines at once. Five or six lines just means added up lines.

You can do up to four rows at one time, so in order to get five or six rows, you have to a. complete that many rows in the time allotted and b. make sure you have at least five or six rows left to clear if you have to clear them one or two rows at a time - and be able to get a pair or three in the process. Example, if you have to clear five rows but only have four left to clear, you would need to do either 3 rows/2 rows or 1 row/1 row/1 row/2 rows. If you cleared four rows, you wouldn't complete the challenge.

The lines just add up. You can't do more than four at once.

I build up everything but the far column on the left or right side. When a get a straight 4 piece blue one I save it in the hold so when the challenge comes up I drop the straight piece down the side filling 4 lines at once. Then I only have to complete 2 more lines to meet the challenge.
