How do YOU keep track?

How do you keep track of the rooms since we can't customize room names much? I don't have a big house yet but it's still hard to remember what room is what. I'll probably follow some of these suggestions and screen print each room with the name.

I've always been able to remember the rooms, but I have also named a few pets so I can have a room for a specific theme , e.g. Hal O. Ween and Chris Mass

I don't keep track of my items. It's a little mind-boggling, and frustrating, including when you have one of those, "I know I have it...somewhere..." moments. XP

I pretty much just know what I have...where some things are, when I put them in storage items, well, I'll find them eventually!

I got frustrated when I was trading for something, only to find out later that I had several of that item in different parts of my house. I don't really want lots of everything, just one is enough!
