I'm fine with losing a good game, even a just-OK game, but why should I stick around to lose a bad game? I don't expect people to put on their best manners and refrain from winning, lest someone's feelings get hurt, but if a player goes zap-happy or takes three or four extra-turn combos in a row and leaves their opponent eating their dust, well, they shouldn't be surprised if a percentage of players decline to help them earn their mad money. I quit as much as 10% of the time because I've drawn a ruthless/clueless opponent who kills the fun in the game. I can only hope they cry about their lost KC.
Not that anyone at WI would play like that, of course. I don't friend on WK, so anyone who bails and tries that sad maneuver on you is definitely not me. But if you zap a lot and your mild-mannered opponent abruptly goes into take-no-prisoners-let's-end-this-destroy-destroy-destroy mode...
I agree with the player who feels they are in a minority. I, too, hate it when a player who starts out with a FIVE in a row, goes on to four FOUR in a row, then zaps you as a final play comes along. I have to admit, I've quit on a few of those. Whatever happened to sportsmanship?
On the other hand, I've gotten a good run like that and left a FOUR in a row or two on the board only to have the player make those moves then zap the heck out of me as a thank you.
Still, I won't zap first and until I find out that the other person is zap happy I will play as if those zappers don't exist. Then I feel free to zap. | | | 01-06-2009, 01:31 PM | #32 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Oct 2008 Posts: 1,150 | Re: quitters Originally Posted by jessicabarnhart Wow, I am really surprised at this posting. There has been many games where my opponent has been way in the lead and because I took the zap-happy way I was able to win. But, it is nice to finally be able to see the other side of this situation, never really thought about it from this point of view............. That is the great thing about this site....in-site!
I agree with this and if they don't want to play then they should not play, we an not choose which marbles will drop & what color they will be I guess just chalk it up to poor sportsmanship, and cheating. it is a shame they arent taught better.

Question..do you get to choose the marble colors that drop on your game? I can't on mine so I must take the moves that are there. the point of the game is to match up as many of the same color as you can to fill the beakers in the fastest time. that is the point isn't it? I'm not sure if you all know that but that is how to end the game & quitter gets zero kc ,but now the person who finishes till the game resets gets the kc. So really I guess it doesn't matter if people quit or not , it's just rude. Last edited by a3doglife; 01-06-2009 at 01:31 PM.. Unfortunately GANZ has not been able to get all of these problemos worked out just yet, but they are trying.
I know this is frustrating, but I know for a fact that many do not choose to quit the game. I know this, because each & every day my daughters & I play (or attempt to play) games in the Tounament Arena & in our rooms, but after a few turns one of our screens (almost everytime!) boots us out of WW altogether! While frustrating it is a glitch that we must have patience & HOPE Ganz gets it fixed soon!
Have a Wonderful Monday!!
You can pretty much tell when someone has been booted, because you cannot quit the game any other way except to log off. I believe the OP is pretty much referring to those who quit then ask for a rematch or to be friends because they don't like the way the game is going.

No, you don't get to choose the marble color, but there are ways to take moves (most of the time, not all) so that you don't zap people constantly. I guess I'd rather play a fair game with someone and take the chance of losing than run the board on the first move and have someone quit out of frustration, but thats just me. I highly doubt I'm playing a preschooler at 11pm on Tuesday nights | | | 01-06-2009, 04:11 PM | #38 | BojoElevin Webkinz :) Join Date: Dec 2008 Posts: 23,275 | Re: quitters I know it's fusterating | | | 01-06-2009, 04:13 PM | #39 | I be Shadow. >:D Gifted Join Date: Feb 2008 Posts: 40,174 | Re: quitters XD To be honest, I find myself getting really really mad sometimes if I start losing too badly, and so I have to quit before I rip out the computer from the wall. So I think that quitting is okay under proper circumstances, such as anger management, but otherwise we should all try to just keep playing. | | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off
